I found out the week before we were due to leave that the Wishes buffet was back on ... I jumped at the chance of booking it - my partner had never been to WDW, and I wanted her to see Wishes, it was Easter week so I knew it would be very crowded.
We went 30th April - Spectromagic was on at 8pm, Wishes 9pm then Spectromagic again at 10pm.
The buffet had only restarted the previous day and we got a few conflicting messages as to what to do/where to go and at what time. I realised people had started to queue at about 7.30pm so we joined the queue. We were checked in and given a wristband - encouraged to go and watch spectromagic and return but we decided to wait.
At 8pm we were shown in - our table for two was right at the front with a perfect view of the castle
the mickey and castle confetti on the table plus our name tag made it feel special.
The buffet had been set up ... drinks were pink lemonade, lemonade, sweet tea and unsweetened tea, water. Hot drinks tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
It made me smile that rather than rushing for food we were all rushing to take pictures of the buffet!
the food was lovely, DP loved the pistachio creme brulee, I feasted on the chocolate dipped strawberries.
The buffet was never refilled ... they just kept removing parts of the counter and rearranging the food, but the event was not sold out and there was plenty of food.
When wishes started many people did walk across to the wall to get a better view - some people dragged across chairs for children to stand on but were politely told that this was not allowed and they had to put them back. Tinkerbell waved to us all as she flew past which was a special touch!
Am I glad we did it? yes ... it was a magical start to our first full day, it also allowed us to sit and wait for Wishes in comfort when the park was very very crowded.
Would I do it again? Maybe not ... but only as I'd be using my money to experience something else! I'd done the dessert buffet at Disneyland for Fantasmic a few years ago and the food here was far better .... but the exclusivity of the balcony seats there was hard to beat!!!
