Can anyone give me a review on the wishes cruise that can be purchased? I was thinking of doing this during our Christmas time trip to help cut down on dealing with the crowds. Do you get a good view of the show from the boat, and how are the CM's on the boat? Thanks..

1- Do you get a good view of the show from the boat, and

2- how are the CM's on the boat? Thanks..

1- Yes. And, audio from the show is piped in, too.

2- First-rate.

I have never been on a Wishes cruise, but we did an Illuminations cruise for the 1st time last Oct.

The boats are pontoon boats, very clean and comfy. Our captain was very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed it very much.

Water, soda and small bags of chips are available. You can order from CR private dining if you want beer, wine or other snacks. We ordered three chocolate cupcakes from YC private dining, they were huge and wonderfully decorated.

After watching Illuminations from the boat, a wonderful view, fun time cruising around lake and not worrying about crowds afterwards, it will be hard not go do this every year.

I didn't enjoy the Wishes cruise as much as the Illuminations cruise. I like how with Illuminations you are close to the fireworks vs. being so far away outside the Magic Kindgom for Wishes. They were both fun experiences but we've done multiple Illuminations cruises, and probably won't do Wishes again.

We did one on Christmas night of 2012. We boarded at the dock at Wilderness Lodge. There were more snacks than we needed. We were told to take them with us when we left since we had paid for them. The driver was young, cute, funny. Shocked when he tried to stump me with trivia and I knew more than he did. ;)

You do get a really nice view of the fireworks and yes like previously stated the music is piped in.

It is not my favorite way to view Wishes because the boat does bob around on the water, it can be a bit chilly out there that time of year. You don't get that totally immersed feeling you get when you are in the MK for the show.

However - during that time of the year it really can't be beat. We have done two Wishes cruises and one Illuminations. I would like to do another Illuminations cruise soon.

We'll be celebrating our 20th aniiversary on our up-coming trip. I just booked a Wishes Cruise yesterday- a spur-of-the-moment idea! I cannot wait!

We are going to try a Wishes Cruise in April (the week before Easter) for the same reasons as OP. We want to do something not contingent on the crowds that time of year. For those that have done the fireworks cruises before - I was wondering about tipping. Do we have to tip in cash - or can we tip with a credit card (sort of like you would do at a restaurant)?

Cash to the captain.

What are the tipping guidelines for an event like this?

Is the view for the wishes fireworks better than seeing them at BLT or the Contemporary?

Do you see the electrical water pageant too?

How is the tour of the lagoon?

Are the illuminations fireworks a better view than the reserved viewing area?

Trying to decide which cruise to try.

The boats try very hard to put you in front of the train station in the middle so you are looking down main street at the castle. It does bob around some and the boats are constantly adjusting position so as to avoid each other. But even with that the fire works were amazing! There was just something about the whole picture the scene made that made it very magical.

Our boat stopped out on the bay and watched the electrical light pageant go by. The captain was fantastic and gave a lot of history and information about the area. Even takes you over to the old river country to view it from the water. Granted you don't see much at night but it was interesting.

We tipped the captain in cash at the end of the cruise. We also got to take any of the snacks or soda's that were left over. They also decorated the boat because I had mentioned in my reservations that we were celebrating my son's birthday.

Haven't done the Illuminations one yet, that's next on the list!

Can anyone who's booked Wished recently please tell me what it cost? I am considering it for a future trip -- it sounds like fun and we all hate the craziness of getting out of the park after the fireworks!

Can you tell me where you go to reserve the wishes or illuminations cruises? I have looked on the website a few times now and cannot find a phone number or a link to reserve. Thanks.
