Wishes Cruise and Whispering Canyon?

On Monday Dec 1st we have a 5:25 ADR for Whispering Canyon and then we booked a Wishes Cruise for that night. I don't know what time we need to be there for the cruise, do we have enough time for both?

When you book the Wishes Cruise, the CM will tell you which marina to go to and at what time to be there. I think that you have to be there 30 minutes before Wishes starts. You pay for your cruise, kids are given life jackets, you're taken on a tour of the lake and the surrounding resorts, you get to see the water parade and then all the pontoons jockey for a position on the lake for the best view of Magic Kingdom. This happens before wishes starts, or at least in our case it did.

Wishes is 8:00 pm on the night you're going, so you probably have to check in at 7:30 pm. Then don't forget to allow yourself time to get to the marina if it is at a different resort. Whether or not you have time to do both depends on how big your party is and if you're a slow eater . If you're really concerned, you can always try to move your ADR to an earlier time.

Okay, found my old itinerary from July 2007. We had a 5:55 pm ADR for 1800 Park Fare and then Wishes was at 9:00 pm that night. We were a party of 10with 3 kids and I remember we finished a leisurely dinner and had at least 30 minutes until we had to check into the marina. Our marina was at GF so we didn't have to travel to another resort. I remember the wait because my FIL was irritated about it....sigh, can't please everyone. Not going to try next time.

You can call (407) WDW-PLAY and find out a general time when you have to check in for a 8:00 pm Wishes cruise and then change your ADR time accordingly.

I would call the number above and just ask. They sometimes ask you are there 30-45 min in advance. That means around 7:15pm. Which dock are you meeting the boat at?

I'm curious how you were able to book your Wishes Cruise already? I called today for Dec. 6th and was told to call back at 90 days.

Although it was some years ago, when we did a MK fireworks cruise we were picked up at the MK resort we requested. We were staying at the Polynesian but having dinner at Narcoossee's so I asked to be picked up at the GF marina. No problem at all.

I can't imagine why they still wouldn't do it that way. If so, I think you'll have time for both. Have fun!

Flipflop: we booked a grand gathering, maybe thats different? when I called to make my package reservations I told them I wanted to to the cruise and he told me the dates available.

If you're doing the Grand Gathering Wishes Cruise you usually need to be at the Contemporary Resort about an hour to an hour and a half before Wishes that night. We just did the GG cruise a couple of weeks ago, and I think we had to be there at 8:00 for our dessert reception prior to the cruise. You should have plenty of time since there is a direct boat from WL to the CR.

To book the Grand Gatherings cruise you must have a party of 8 or more. You can also book a pontoon boat for around $275 with no minimum number in the party. Those are the ones you can book 90 days out. The Grand Gathering is $44.95 for adults and $24.95 for kids and is put into the cost of your WDW package. At least 80% of your party must be staying onsite to do that one. Hope that helps!
