Hi all,

We have never been to wishes before and we are planning to with our 3 year old and 1 year old. What is the best spot to make a quick exit in case our lil ones are not fans? ( also to beat the bus rush , if that's even possible) There will be EMHs the night we are going, will that maybe help with the rush to the buses? Also, has anyone ever used noise canceling headphones or other types headphones for kids that aren't that great with the loud noises.

Both of my boys used the headphones last trip - ages 2 and 4. We watched Wishes in NFL, so it was LOUD. And they did great. Same thing with Illuminations. Without the headphones, I think we would have made that emergency escape you describe. Highly recommended!

You want earmuffs not really headphones. Noise canceling headphones that play music will not cancel fireworks noise.

The best place to watch for a quick exit is the train station or you can eve watch from TTC.

Evening EMH may help with buses but there will still be a post wishes rush of families with little ones.

Thank you! Yes ear muffs, I haven't searched them yet but I was about to ask what they were called because headphones didn't make sense. Thanks!

There's really no quick escape after Wishes - even the backstage route behind Main Street gets congested. The train station at the head of Main Street is a prime spot, so that means getting there over an hour or more before the start of the show, and waiting.

I actually think it's pretty easy to move around quickly DURING Wishes. Disney does a great job of keeping a clear travel lane around the hub, Main Street, etc. Everyone else is stationary and you'll be one of the few in the "travel lanes." But once it's over, all bets are off!

I had to bail in the middle of Wishes on our first trip because DS (3 at the time) wasn't a fan of the fireworks. We were in the Tomorrowland Terrace / Plaza Restaurant area. Walked out down main street (or maybe the sidewalk) with no trouble and was on the boat to WL in no time.

We used baby banz ear protectors for our 4 months old when we were at Disney last year and she SLEPT THROUGH the fireworks! (at Epcot, MK, and HS) Our older daughter was 4 at the time and chose to use hers on loud rides and shows (Mickey's Backyard BBQ) and at fireworks, and she really enjoyed them. As for best places to watch, on time we basically watched from the end of main street - like, just inside the park, and it was fine. We have also had the FP preferred seating, which is really spectacular.

If you had to make a quick exit DURING Wishes, if your kids aren't fans, it is actually pretty easy to do so. It's right when it ends that is the hard part.

Good advice on the train station. Thank you!

Was the FP for Wishes worth it? Where is the reserved section? Maybe we wanna try for a FP. If not I think we will try from the end of Main Street. Thanks for the feedback!

These are the type my friend uses with their 7 month old. May be better for the 1 year old. Not sure of the brand but they said their little one didn't like the more standard ones but since these fit like a headband she was fine with them and slept in the baby carrier no problem on new years eve.

Just remember to get them before you go and let your little ones wear them here and there. You don't want the first time they put them on to be at Disney.

If you had 2 days to see Wishes, maybe I'd get a FP for the second day.... I thought the view was spectacular - they're the lawn-like areas past the end of Main St. nearer the castle with our kids in strollers, etc. it was nice to be able to sit on the astroturf and chill. After reading about the Tomorrowland dessert party, we canceled our reservations for that and went with FP instead.

I think the FP area actually moved to the flag pole but not 100% sure.
