Wishes 10/8/11 WP/GF-- Love's First Kiss-- Trip Report Complete

Ok, a couple of comments:

I like the B&W picture personally, but I say pick whichever suits the room you're displaying it in best.

I loved your account of Animator's Palette. If I ever manage to make it on DCL, it's the restaurant I'd be most excited about.

Your pirate picture is sily and fun. Beautimous.

Finally, OMG MAGIC ROSE PETALS! How crazy!

Aren't the rose petals wonderful? It was such an amazing surprise!

I vote black and white, I feel like it really fits the look of the picture. The restaurant is so fun and pretty! It looks like Disney cruises really cater to honeymooners :goodvibes

Disney all around is great for honeymooners. We always had a great time and never felt that we were out of place.

Honeymoon, Day 7

We were very excited this morning, because today we were at Castaway Cay. On my previous Disney cruises, Castaway Cay was always my favorite day. It's very relaxed, just fun on a beach and only a tiny walk from the ship. We also had a couples massage booked on the adult beach!

We grabbed a quick breakfast at Enchanted Garden (the only regular restaurant that we didn't attend, as we had Remy's reservations that night). It was very neat inside, all pretty pastels and lots of flower detailing. Breakfast was a traditional buffet. I love buffets, although I tried not to gorge since I was already in my bikini and would be for awhile!

We went straight from breakfast to the disembarkation point. We had budgeted way too much time to get to our massages, so we decided to walk the island instead of taking the tram. Sadly, but true to form, it was a cloudy and very windy day.

Even with the dreary weather, I think Castaway Cay is the beautiful, isolated island that people dream about.

I was disappointed, no doubt, but I really felt sad for Brandon. He had never been to Castaway Cay, and I wanted him to love it. I wanted him to have a fantastic, sunny beach day. It just wasn't in the cards for us.

Along the way, we saw a meet & greet spot for Mickey, in his island wear. The line wasn't bad, so we hopped in. We were two families back when the party of TWO in front of us was joined by NINE more people. This was definitely the most irate I was on the whole honeymoon. And it wasn't just me, the whole line was upset. Some people were shouting things to them, at least I didn't do that. What really bugged me was that Mickey had two handlers that said nothing to this group. Then they took pictures with Mickey in every possible combination of people they could think of. It was infuriating.

Eventually they left, and I tried my best to put it out of my mind. We got our cute picture

Kind of wish those catamarans weren't in the background, they're blocking our gorgeous ship!

Even with the clouds, Castaway Cay is still a beautiful island. I hope Brandon was able to enjoy it as well!

Aw, what a bummer about the stuff from Target! We're in super save mode as well. So I totally feel your pain.
I currently have a Tinkerbell comforter on my bed! haha. I got it RIGHT before they stopped selling the adult stuff. =[ So sad.

Everything looks great and your picture is adorable!!

LLove Tropical Mick-ster as well!

Oh my goodness Michelle ...........

I have made it to page 41, and before i make myself extremly tired for tomorrow i need to stop and post before i turn in for the night ready to read on tomorrow!

You most certainly have to be the most romantic sweetest bride ever - that is all!!

It must feel quite strange to have the compliments from complete strangers - but its very dificult to not remark and to not share a compliment.

There is so much i would love to say but for fear of sounding extremely odd i shall hold my tongue slightly!!

Your dress, although not one i would have looked at is absolutely breathtaking, and now a style i would love to try ( I am already married so not as a bridal gown unfortunately!)

Your report has reminded me of some wonderful memories i have of falling in love with my wonderful Husband, and of our wonderful wedding day.
Due to a very dificult time in our lifes recently, and through no fault of our own we have got lost along the way,my precious Mum is terminally ill and takes up a lot of my time, through work life and family and caring for her it is a tricky time and we dont usually have time for each other.... so i found your song "Hold On" on you tube and had the tears streaming down my face............... what poignant lyrics!!

You two are truly lost completly in love - and i know what a wonderful magical feeling that is, thank you for the precious reminder of how sweet my marriage is too!!!

Ohh I'm so jealous of your comforter! I check the Disney store site every once in awhile to check, but right now they only have one non-kid bed set.

I am so touched by your very kind words. Thank you so much. I think connecting to strangers through this site may have begun as strange, but truthfully, the comfort of my computer has allowed me to be very raw and honest. It's my outlet, my chance for reflection, and I am so glad to have found the DIS.

It's easy for the most important things in our lives to get bogged down by the hardships. I think we all have felt that way before. I am so sorry to hear about your mother-- my mother is incredibly close to me, I can totally understand how her care would dominate your life. I'm sure your husband understands that, too. I try to keep my love and gratitude for Brandon in the front of my mind every day, some days I am more successful than others. When the love is there, all you need is that desire to find each other. Best wishes to you and your family.

After a bit more meandering and a short tram ride to Serenity Bay (the adults-only section), we found some loungers on the beach. We still had about an hour before our massages, so we thought we would just stare at the ocean a while.

It was pretty, but not exactly the tropical fantasy I had pictured

We toughed it out for a bit, but it was windy and chilly. I knew it was time to abandon the beach when we were both using our beach towels as blankets. We packed up and went to check in for the massages. The CM directed us to wait outside one of the cabanas. We had to wait about 20 minutes, and I got bit by sand fleas! I am always the person in the group who attracts the insects. At first I thought I was imagining it, then I noticed all the tiny bumps popping up on my feet and ankles.

So I was very happy when our two masseuses appeared and ushered us into the cabana. It was very simple but still beachy inside. There were two massage tables and a big, open window facing the ocean. Just the sound of it was immediately calming.

The ladies gave us a minute to get undressed (we both kept our undies on), we each laid down on our table, and slid under the warm towels.

This was only the second massage I've ever had, but it was the only one where I could hear the ocean! I think my thoughts actually stopped during the massage. Whatever lotions they used smelled just a little bit minty, and something very soothing (maybe lavendar?) They also used a bristle brush to exfoliate our skin, which felt reeeeeeeeally good! Like this gentle scratching that really got your blood flowing. I practically melted into the table. I know I had some knots in my shoulders and back from the stress of the wedding, and it just felt so good when she worked them out.

Near the end of our massages, it started raining (really, it must have just followed us). I didn't mind now though, because feeling as relaxed as I was, with my eyes closed, the rain was just another beautiful background sound. It was incredibly peaceful.

At the end of the massage, my masseuse stretched my hand out, and then I was holding Brandon's hand :)

I spent the past few hours reading through this - you had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL wedding, and I love love love your dress! :lovestruc

Back again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am all caught up - and feeling sad at this as i have been captivated and have been hung on your every word!!!!

Still the report is not over so i shall happily stalk you whilst hiding in the corner :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I am in awe over the whole planning and wedding itself, and the way you have expressed the beauty of it all is pure talent!!

I love the photos of you both from the ceremony - its clear for all to see how much you are in love, what a wonderful future you have to look forward to with each other by your sides!!!

In my guest book someone wrote.......

"Always remeber the reasons you fell in love"

I absolutely love it and i keep the message close to my heart so when i start to forget i look at my man and fall straight back in love with him all over again!!

The meal at V and A - oh my word, shall for sure be putting this on my "To Do" list or "Bucket list"
And the cruise - oh wow!!!!
What a wonderful way to start your marriage!!

Just have to add, Wishes holds a very special place in my heart, Jiminy Cricket encourages you to make a wish, and your dreams will come true - I made a special wish and i believe its coming true, i cant wait to be able to return to Florida and be standing in front of the castle repaying my thanks to the magic. For now its lovely to read when "wishes" plays a part in other peoples hapiness - it truly is a special thing to watch!!

Best wishes to you and your husband for a wonderful future together,
i look forward to reading more.....

Aw, so so so sweet and amazing! I'm so booking us a definite massage for our honeymoon. We've been debating it.. but you're experience just convinced me. I'm hoping that Sandals can do a Disney equivalent. ;D

Yay! Can't wait to hear more!

I just said "Awww!" aloud to my computer when I read the bit about holding hands. I think my cat thinks I'm crazy.

:rotfl:

Oh thank you! I am still crazy for my dress. I was so grateful to find it-- it was exactly what I wanted, and it's certainly not trendy at the moment. Thanks for reading!

Thank you so much! I am always so, so flattered when someone says that they can see how we love each other. We know it, of course, but it just makes me happy when other people can tell, too. Like it's tangible, maybe that makes it seem even more true. That's a wonderful quote from your guest book, if you don't mind I think I'll keep that tucked away in my mind as well.

Victoria & Albert's is really just beyond words. I tried to articulate it as best I could. You have to go one day, it is such an amazing experience!

Yay! Can't wait to hear more!

I'm sure Sandals has great massage options-- I would imagine they have beach or ocean front locations, too.

Wow, that makes me want to book a massage right now, lol.

If I were rich, I'd get a massage every week. You just feel so wonderful afterward.

Our masseuses gave us a minute to dress, then they immediately launced into a sales pitch. They were trying to sell massage oil, lotions, some kind of toner stuff, and those bristle brushes. I really was disappointed in Disney here; after you have a wonderfully relaxing hour, you don't want to have the serenity spoiled by a pushy sales person. I felt kind of bad, since they had just given us such nice massages, I figured maybe we would buy just one thing. I asked how much the brushes were, and she said FORTY DOLLARS. For a BRUSH. I said nevermind, no thank you, and we were on our way.

It was lunch time now, so we stopped at the little BBQ restaurant near Serenity Bay. It was a really cute buffet, with outdoor picnic tables and umbrellas. We each had a delicious plate of chicken, ribs, beans, salad, bread, etc. I don't have any pictures, but it was such a neat little place. Very informal (as you would expect in your beachwear) and comfortable and with a definite island feeling.

After lunch, it was raining again, so we sadly accepted that it was time to go back to the ship. Plenty of people were still on the island, but we just didn't see the point of playing on the beach in the rain. The hot tub sounded much more fun!

Back on the ship, we noticed that the Aqua Duck line was again very short, so we went for another round! It was just as much fun. I really miss the Aqua Duck.

We stopped by the adult pool bar, picked up some more drinks (I think it was Bahama Mamas today), and stretched out by the pool-- just under an overhang to avoid the rain drops. We weren't getting wet, but I could watch the light rain drops splash in the pool. It was kind of neat, actually. It reminded me of a scene from one of the Pirates movies where the rain gathers in tea cups.

The rain let up eventually, so we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the pool and the hot tub.

-I STILL stockpile shampoo and soaps! I have a problem…
-Omigosh, that princess sketch is beautiful! I want a Belle one.
-The towel animals are just so special.
-That’s exactly what Castaway Cay looked like the only time I’ve been there!
-Blergh I HATE LINE SAVERS AND CUTTERS! Another person who needs to be kicked.
-I just got chills at the thought of your beach massage. I am so happy for your experience, and just a teensy bit jealous.
-And I hate sales pitches, ESPECIALLY after you spend a lot of money (I am sure the massage was pricy!) It’s just poor taste.
-At least you had the Aqua Duck and Bahama Mamas!

How many days is this cruise? Is the honeymoon almost over? I hope not. :(

I have not heard a tr about the beach massages that didn't complain about the pushy sales pitch. It must really be a problem!

Sadly, this is the last day of our cruise. We have 3 more days in WDW, then the honeymoon is over. I've been dreading the end of my TR. The moments when I'm writing, it's like I'm still there. I don't want to give it up!!

I have not heard a tr about the beach massages that didn't complain about the pushy sales pitch. It must really be a problem!

They should really stop doing that! It's obnoxious and I can't imagine anyone buys it with the outrageous prices they're asking. And like Jackie said, we had already paid for the massages-- they had made enough money off of us!

By late afternoon, we headed back to our room to get showered and dressed for the evening. In our second bathroom, I noticed this funny picture

IMG_7060.jpg

A swim suit cop!! They used to measure our skirts like this the year I went to Catholic school.

We started in the gift shops near the lobby. This is another instance where I talked myself out of buying anything and I so regret it now! I should have got a little DCL jacket or something.

Brandon is not a shopaholic like me, so he took some pictures in the pretty hallway outside

IMG_7021.jpg

The shops are very near the theater, where all the stage shows are housed

I love that picture of Walt
