Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

Did any of y'all plan ADR's before you even had a trip scheduled? I'm thinking of doing one a week for Cinderella's table in February. Thoughts, comments, ideas?

Denise (bigdisgrandma) did a really great tutorial in her trip report. She has two uber adorable grand daughters who like to wear their hair in these signature styles. She did the tutorial for "the Gabby" but Siennah at two doesn't have enough hair for the "Gabby" so I went ahead and gave the "Karlyn" a shot :)
I have to find her TR! That is aweseom and would work so well for Sami!! (if she'd sit still!!)
:rotfl:

Go for it! Here's my reasoning...

February is not generally a busy time at WDW (and thus GKTW) therefore if those are your first choice of dates with MAW you are likely to get those dates.

You can book Cindy's table 180 days out. I think it's 190 if you are staying at a Disney property. You might want to try on at 190 day mark and see if they will let you with it being a Wish Trip.

You can always cancel---given enough time I think you can get a refund.

The "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" book has a really good section on how to work the system to get these most coveted ADRs. :wizard:

Good luck!

Well I did it and booked for the 18th of February, now I need to book another the next week. They charge the full amount up front though and that stinks, but what we do for our children. LOL

After your first Wish Granter Meeting, how long until you got a response from MAW?

What is US/IO when y'all speak of tickets? I understand Universal Studios, but it's the IO part that has me confused.

IOA = Islands of Adventure next door to Universal Studios

Grumpy Grandma's editorial comment here - IOA is not my favorite place - almost everything is either a coaster or gets me wet or both, although Seuss landing is very cute for the littles.

I think it depends. For us, Emy went to the MAW "house" and she made her wish on 8/28. We got notified on 10/8 that her wish was approved and they are planning her trip now. :thumbsup2 So that was just a little over a month? Granted, she also had surgery within that time frame so that may have held it up as well. Not sure.

Hope that helps!

Hello!!
We just finished taking our wish trip to DW. It was wonderful!!
We have a different situation than most. Our second son is also able to be a part of Make a Wish too. I was wondering if anyone else out there has 2 kids that are eligble? Did anyone take 2 trips? How far apart?
Thanks,
Cheryl

Well I took the plunge and will begin a pre-trip report. It can be found in my signature.

We were just apporved for my 11yo dd's wish trip and our 3ds is also eligible for one. We will probably wait until he is older. I know of someone else on a different message board that had 2 kids that both got wishes.

So we got our letter of apporval the first weekend in Sept. and we just heard from our wish volunteer last night. We will probably meet with them the first week of Nov. as dh and I are heading out of town next week. I called the Oregon chapter a couple of weeks ago and was told a lot of wishes had been approved in our area so it was taking longer than usual. My dd is very excited and can't wait to get things moving. I will keep you all updated as I find out more.

I am glad to find someone else who will be taking 2 trips!! It felt weird to qualify twice. We live in LaGrande so there wasn't too many. My 8 year old is very excited to get his trip now. We go to Doernbechers in December and will probably start the process(again ) then.
You are going to have a great time! GKTW is wonderful! I want to live there!

Sebastian's wish granter wants me to write a press release for his upcoming party. Anyone out there have any experience with this? TIA!

I was a PR major in College, but that was 14 years ago that I wrote my last Press Release. Not sure how good I would be at it still. Spend all those years in College never to use the actual degree. What a novel idea.
