Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

Hi Everyone:
Well we are supposed to leave for Justins Wish Trip on the 10th but we just found out that his blood counts are really low. My daughter is very worried that we might have to postpone the trip. His Dr. cut his meds in half to see if that helped and they will be rechecking next Wednesday. The kids will be so disappointed if they have to postpone again. They were supposed to join us in Orlando over Christmas of last year but couldnt make it due to Justins diagnoses. We are just going to prayer that his counts come back up. When they were visiting us in Seattle we all came down with the stomach flu. Justin never did get it but the Dr. said that his counts are probably down due to his body having to fight off that infection. Anyway keep him in your prayers and I will let you know how it goes.

It's a good thing I got that next set of Pixie Dust packages out in the mail on Friday afternoon because my water broke on Friday night at 9:00 p.m. 18 hours and 36 minutes later at 3:36 p.m. on Friday our little Savannah entered the world weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. She made her debut three weeks early but is very healthy. Brother Sebastian and big sister Siennah are totally smitten with her.

My cup runneth over.....

She was born on August 2nd.

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes! We are home now and tired...really tired...but doing well :lovestruc

Amber,
I always tell my daughters and daughter in laws to stay in comfy PJ type clothes for at least 3 days when they come home. When you get dressed in "real" clothes, everyone thinks everything is back to the normal routine. Do take good care of yourself and your beautiful new daughter. I know, easier said than done with other little ones needing your time.
Here's a great motto for new moms:
Save your time to be with your babies, use paper plates and paper cups!
Wish I was close enough to bring you dinner and I surely would!

Denise

CONGRATULATIONSparty:

Thank you so much for thinking of Dilly, he enjoyed getting his very own mail so much! He seperated and packed everything but the cards, he played with those right away. You are so thoughtful!:wizard:

when did everyone start making a count down calendar for your kids? I'm looking for something to do while he's at school and i would like some ideas. I was thinking of making a chain to hang in his room. I would like it to be easy for him to be able to pull it apart or to mark on it any suggestions welcome.

Amber, what a precious family! Congratulations on your new baby, and thank you for posting the photos!

OH! I didn't even know this was here! YAY! I am subbing I am going to catch up in the next few days!

We too are a wish trip family! My DD5 Mia was diagnosed in May with Melanoma. This type of cancer in a child so young is very very rare. What is even more shocking is that she had this kind of wart looking growth on her foot. It was perfectly symetrical, red with a pearlish tint. She had this growth for about 3 years. Many doctors that we had seen didn't want to do anything about because of her age. Finally, a plastic surgeon removed it and biopsied it. We were crushed when he said he didn't get it all, that it was deep into the tissue.

So Mia had second surgery to remove the rest of the cancerous tissue from her foot and had 13 lymph nodes removed. She had incisions in her left leg and abdomin, a skin graft and incisions on her foot. She was totally imobile for two weeks. Luckily only the sentinal node was cancerous and not the surrounding nodes. She started a chemo treatment called Interferon Alpha. Unlike traditional, she didn't lose her hair and was really ppositive about the whole thing. Once we had made the phone calls to family and friends very magical things started happening.

We had booked our WDW trip in April, one week prior to her first surgery. Next thing you know, I have emails from my mothers co-worker coming into my mail box. The woman who's name is Laurie was on the board of Dream Come True Foundation and offered to take over our trip planing. After a few weeks of consideration, we gave her our blessing! So many people have reached out to us and its absolutely amazing. We had set up a blog for our family and friends to keep up with her treatment. You can read more about Mia at Misspeachybeans.blogspot.com

we are now 10 days away from our fabulous vacation and we are so excited. We get home on August 21st then we have a family picnic on the 23rd, a fundraiser at Bridgeport BlueFish baseball game, I start back to school on the 24th, and her first day of kindergarten is the 27th. We are busy busy people dontcha know....:rotfl2:
