WISH Team structure and organization (All team members please read)

Love the idea, Scott! Maybe there could be two separate scavenger lists with bar items and non bar items...or a combined list with some items that aren't from the bars. Like have some of the CMs in EPCOT write Go WISH team in their native language. Maybe we could even bring you a frozen banana

Sounds like a really good time! Count me in. Tom & I will be coming to the World without our kids for the first time ever  and that's the kind of good time we would be looking for!

I'm in, but I also don't drink... I'm sure there's a way for all of us to participate. :)

Duckie, who is looking forward to the marathon weekend even more now that she is on Mickey restriction...

Now this is the WISH team that I know and love:love:

A scavanger hunt sounds fun. You know us RedNeck Ky folk will do anything that involves beer. "Hey Y'all Watch This".

I'm really not a true RedNeck, I don't watch wrasslin and hate Nascar. Heck I don't even like watching baseball unless there is beer and lots of horrid food.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Just adding my opinions here. I am not new to the DIS boards, but have only been posting on WISH since late January. And only joined the racing team in February. So I am pretty new around these parts. And I am brand new to running, only having started in late in January (and am now up to 7 miles for my long runs, thank you very much! :goodvibes )

While I certainly appreciate the hard work of those on the committee...and I further believe that all of this was done with the best intentions and spirit possible, I do not really see the need to be so formal. This is, by definition, an informal internet community. The only real boss around here is Pete. And he has has WebMasters to help with the technical issues of running such a large site and the moderators to make sure the folks play by the rules. But that is all as far as structure goes.

A steering committee for one small section of the boards just doesn't seem to fit with the spirit of the DIS.

Now, speaking as a newcomer...YES, I would like to see things made a bit easier for those new to the forum. I am pretty outgoing and am very comfortable on the DIS, so I was able to find my way around, but only b/c I put myself out there and asked around. Someone new to the DIS or who just prefers to lurk would have a hard time finding out what and who and where all of the necessary info. is.

I think that a lot of these issues can be handled with some stickys just like the other boards. Have a post titled, "So you want to join a team..." for example. And boom...folks know what to do if they want to be on a team. And so on for the other issues out there.

This DIS is my down-time. It is my stress release. I come here for fun, friendship, and to share my ups and downs with my running and fitness program. And because I have a passion for Disney, I love that I can get all of that information with a touch of Disney magic. I don't necessarily want or need it to be anything more than that. And I certainly don't want the magic to go away....

Scott - great idea! Patrick and I are in for the scavenger hunt. I organized one for a work team outing and it was a blast!

Jen - can we draft Noah into being our official photographer for that?

Liz, I'm sure he will do it willingly--and use it to justify buying those new lenses he's been dreaming about. :)

Hey you scavenger hunt fanatics... I was just going back through some of the threads.
Don't forget someone is trying to do a Illuminations desert WISH party at EPCOT on Sunday night. I know I said I would go if I could get Monday off from work.

Holy cow, I missed this thread. I've got some reading to catch up on!:lmao:

Okay, I'm back.

First, I'll quote Mr. Walter Elias Disney...
"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

I feel the WISH Team will likely never be finished, because we're continuously evolving with new ideas, training ideas, and sharing of our knowledge with one another. If you ask me, that Mr. Disney was a pretty smart guy.

Secondly, we may have to start a new club appropriately named "Down the Hatch", "Bottoms Up", or "Good Libations." Now there's a committee I'd gladly volunteer to be on. :drinking1

I'm glad to be a WISH team member, and to have so many friends who share some of my same interests. Yes we may agree or disagree on things, but try not to take it personally. We're all in this together. :grouphug:

My name is Jeff, and I'm a runner with a Disney Problem.
