Wish MV - Tiered experience booking?

So since the Maiden Voyage of the wish will be all platinum cruisers, here's the question I've been pondering. Do we think they will do the same type of tiered booking they did for the cruise itself with the excursions and/or onboard experiences? Pretty much everyone is going to want to do Palo, etc. so I have a feeling they may have to do something different for those bookings.

Thoughts?

It will be interesting to see. The 10-14 platinum group (and even 15-19) are going to feel like silver castaway club members again.
Right? That's where we are here. Guess I'm going to have to scrape up enough money to take 4 more cruises between now and then if we ever sail again lol

I wonder how many of those "just happy to be on the ship" people won't be so happy when there's nothing left for them to book. The complaint posts are going to make for some entertaining reading.

Well I'm one of those just so happy to be there crowd, and I will be just that. It's such a blessing and a cool experience. I'll pack my patience and hope others do too!

Well, us lowly Gold folks don't have to worry about it, we're not good enough to get on the ship... :P.
Which is fine, we get it. We're happy for everyone who did and hope it goes smoothly. But, I do look forward to hearing how this goes. I think Disney needs to redo their loyalty program anyway. There are too many platinum members now.

I have a feeling that Frozen dining room night will become the Palo night of choice like Pirate night is now.
Well, I for one will want to be at the Frozen dinner, so I won‘t be the competition. :upsidedow

DH and I have 4 cruises booked between now and the Maiden. One is the EBTA. We are so ready to sail!

Really think the whole rewards program needs to be reworked. A 3 Night Cruise isn't the same as a 15 Night Cruise, and a stay in a Category 1A cabin isn't equal to an Inside Stateroom, or even rates vary.

I'm only one away from Platinum.... and while I've done a few 7 nights, it's mostly been 4 night cruises, and almost always at some discounted rate like Florida Resident. Some here might spend more on one cruise than I have on all ten of mine (one shakedown cruise didn't count).

I'm the same as you here.
I mean, I like Palo but I'm not obsessed with it. If we can get a spot fine, if not, I'm ok with it.
Same with excursions. Usually if something we like is sold out we're fine doing something on our own at the port. I just Wish the ports are fully open for all come Summer of 2022.
We're just happy to be on the MV.

Depends on what the Nordic Fare is... ;)

I expect Marvel might be less appealing to some on a repeat basis, but yeah both of these might push a certain type cruiser to look for other options. But the kids are going to love them!

Yeah, I really like how Celebrity does it. It's points per night, and the number of points goes up depending on the category you book (and for solo cruisers, it's doubled unless you're in a solo stateroom). It really seems the most equitable way to do it. And it was before my time looking at them, but they did convert from another system and had some way to credit the previous cruises equitably.

Count 2 of us that do not care what we are able to book...don't need to book stuff in Nassau and CC or on the boat for that matter (as we never do).

Palo, sure be nice to go but with all platinum people on board its not possible to get everyone in there and who knows if they will have different rules for the new upscale places for the MV .

I am going in with open mind.

Also wondering how they will do check-in and boarding. Everyone on the ship will be in boarding group 1. :poop: And everyone will want to be the first ones on board! I'm guessing they may have to strictly enforce PAT for the MV (which may be what happens due to Covid anyway).

Big same as the previous posters above. I was able to get on by the skin of my teeth... not worried at all about whether or not we can book Palo etc, I'm just excited to be on the ship with the execs and you all. Anything beyond what is included in the cruise fare is pixie dust in my mind... I just need to break it to my husband that we have second dining and that is very unlikely to change... I keep thinking we should try it anyway and our bodies are on PST so maybe it won't matter much. :ssst:

Maybe they will assign it as they do the luggage tags on the last night and board by category/area of the ship?

Us too!! Teressa at DUL had texted me asking me for a backup date and then said "Hang on, magic happening". We ended up with a ocean view on the very front of the ship. Wanted a veranda but I'm just so thrilled and excited to be there!

We were hard sticklers on first seating to start with but we did second seating on a cruise and have done nothing else since. It really feels like you get a lot of extra time in the evening before the first show.

Hope we get to see ya!

Oh my gosh same thing... my TA said it may have been due to me having the GTY one in my cart but who knows. I originally wanted the category you booked but my husband is huge on having a verandah so I'll "suffer" through the extra few hundred bucks. It is going to be a great sailing, see you onboard!
