Wish Maiden Voyage | July 14-19, 2022

It looks like we have to take a covid test taken no more than 2 days before boarding (7/12) even vaccinated and upload negative results into safe passage before embarkation 7/14. Sad part is that DCL is no longer paying it and we have to pay for it ourselves. DCL changed the rules recently, its in the know before you go Information. It does also state we can take test at the port but we have to pay but I am not sure how that goes. So I have been trying to find a location where I live that I can take a rapid PCR test for travel that will same day results.
I ordered here so we can get tested anywhere. Might help those who will be at WDW prior to cruise.

This is similar (identical?) to what Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Cruise lines do. We've sailed on them 3 times sine cruising resumed. To us, Its actually better than testing at the port. We schedule our test for 2 days before the cruise (note its days, not 24 hour periods so a Saturday cruise could test on any time Thursday without regard for boarding time) at our local Walgreen. We have not been charged for these tests. The results usually come back within 2 hours.

Perhaps some of us should just agree to meet at one of the bars at a certain time/date and do our own rum tasting.
That's what I was thinking as well. Has anyone seen the rest of the adult areas on the deck plans yet? I'm assuming some of those gray areas are still to be filled in with the final details. As to not interrupt anyone's day plans, we could also say we will just meet up at the adult entertainment, whatever it may be, the first night (assuming they'll still do that nightly.)

I'm down for whatever. I plan on doing internet this cruise just so we can keep in touch. I'm happy to host a whiteboard on our stateroom door too to post meetups. Really looking forward to meeting you all!

Down to 46 days. I am trying not to get too worked up and just let myself be surprised by everything we experience. I’m sad to see the Dream move to Miami because we’ve sailed on her 12 of our 13 cruises so she’s like home to us. Hoping we love the Wish just as much.

Same, since I know something may yet happen to keep us from boarding. Covid aside (we have not caught it yet and our boosters were back in October) I'm also fretting about the possible Alaska Airline strike. We are flying in the day before, but if the entire airline shuts down, then our options to still get to the ship in time take a hit too. Last time our flight was cancelled due to a strike we were stranded in S Africa for an extra day even with several days' notice... shut down meant shut down, and there was no way for them to move so many flights to another carrier.

Ok 1 1/2 hours later finally finished online check in. Staying at Hyatt MCO and taking Disney transfers I did not need to pick a port arrival time. Now on to the packing.

Well now DCL just cancelled one of my one way transfers since I am seeing a credit on the website but I did pay roundtrip previously so have to call DCL tomorrow to correct this and now shows boarding 5 group.

Completed online checkin today at about 10:30 am. Earliest PAT was 12:30, which we took.

We also got 12.30 PAT

What are you all doing for tests?
We'll go with a PCR from CVS a day before the sailing - they've been very fast before, have always got results in less than 24 hrs - hope it's the same these days.

We did ours last night and got BG 7; we're going to use the proctored antigen tests we got for our January trip as backup that we did not end up needing. If I didn't already have them I'd go get a PCR from our clinic as it is still free and easy.

Did our online check-in, went with 1:00 as that was the earliest available. Boarding group 18. I can't believe we're down to 27 days! As far as COVID test, I guess we're going to do the EMED one. CVS doesn't appear to be free for travel anymore. Anyone know if Walgreens is? It looked like on Walgreens site that they were free but not positive.

If you have insurance, PCR tests are still 'free' at CVS. I was told a few days ago that it's still covered by *most*, I asked him about my insurance company and he said it is.

I went to walk through setting up an appointment but when I answered the questionnaire, it didn't make it sound like it was free. I've got good insurance but it made it look like if you didn't have symptoms or had been exposed then it wasn't free.

Is anyone from Western New York, in particular the Rochester area?

Anyone else trying to avoid seeing too many pictures/videos of the inside of the Wish? I don't know, I just want to be surprised and experience it all the first time with my own eyes when we board in just under 22 days!!
