Headed on the Wish for a B2B this Sept. Haven't cruised since pre Covid. I think we will just stay at the Hyatt in the airport. Haven't done that for awhile. I'm guessing that we can still purchase transfers and hotel through DCL. Just weighing our options.

How many hours/days can it be done in advance of embarkation? I know you can get it at the port. If it's just 24 hours prior, is there a place to get tested at the airport? What's the best way to get it done before we board?

Do we travel with our vaccination cards or do we upload pre-cruise? Is a copy accepted?

I do know that we need to fully pack our bags in between cruises even though we are not changing rooms. Boo hoo but understand why.

Thanks! This Platinum cruiser is totally confused this time around and needs a little hand holding. Any other helpful advice is welcome.

Testing? You can test up to 2 days prior to sail date; that is 2 calendar days, it isn't counted as hours. If planning to fly the day prior to embarkation, you can actually test at home if you'd like (and avoid flying if positive). There are online services that will proctor while you use a test you purchase yourself (or one of the government provided tests). If you really want to wait and test at the airport the day prior, just make sure you will get results in time to upload to Safe Passage before midnight.

I believe they recommend you travel with the vaccination card, or at the very least a photo of it. But DCL is unlikely to ask you for it unless something happens with your Safe Passage account and they need to see it.

And yes you can book the Hyatt MCO and DCL Transfers through DCL.

Can you explain calendar days versus hours. I'm a little confused. Thanks in advance.

2 calendar days means if the cruise embarks on Monday, you can test any time of day or night on Saturday or Sunday.

48 hours would mean something like all-aboard is 4pm on Monday, a test done prior to 4pm Saturday would not be accepted.

And that test 2 days prior does include the wee hours of the morning.

I love the online-proctored test. $33 or less from eMed or Optum Store. A lot less stress than finding a test and waiting for results. You will have your e-mail with QR code before you log off. In total, less than 30 minutes (15 minutes for the test to process).

I carry the actual vaccination card. And a passport. No reason to create trouble. And have everything in your hand (ziplock bag) to speed up processing.

Have fun!

Hyatt - you may want to check AAA or other discount rates, also.

We booked the MCO Hyatt directly through DCL and got a better rate than I could find on my own. We aren't AAA or anything like that, so it was nice to save a few bucks via DCL booking for us. And one less thing to manage/worry about on my own.

Our Wish cruise was on a Thursday so we tested on a Tuesday....2 days before. Not specifically 48 hours in advance....so anytime after midnight 2 days before you cruise you can test.

We were on the Wish MV and was so anxious about where we were going to test as we were going to be in WDW a few days before our cruise.

We decided on the OnPoint proctored test. It was very easy. We used tests we already had and just paid $14.99 per person for the teleservice. We tested at 7 am right from our WDW hotel room. We tested 3 people during one zoom call.

You purchase the service and once that is done you book appointments. They have appointment 24/7. Each person needs to fill out a Patient Registration form at the website and have that confirmation # handy during the call. Also, each person needs to upload their insurance info and ID. All that is done beforehand. The actual zoom call took less than 10 minutes for the 3 of us. Here is the link and the short video explains a lot. I would definitely use them again, if needed.

We each received an email within the hour with our results and uploaded the results to the SafePassage site. We were cleared to sail by 6:00 pm that evening.

It also was the least expensive option we had found. Good luck with your planning!!!

We’re sailing in September. Not yet figuring out testing logistics since so much can change between now and then. I’ll give it some thought in another month or so.

I am a bit lost as well- no cruise since 2019, but I think we have it figured out. These boards help a lot! With Royal dropping their testing for cruises less than 5/6 nights, we will wait a bit to book our tests. We sail the beginning of September, but I can be hopeful that DCL follows along a month later. Even though a bit more than I want to spend, we will go with Inspire (DCL). Tests shipped, results uploaded right to DCL. Don't need to order tests until 2 weeks before. Hopefully by then it will be clear if a test for a 4 night DCL cruise will be required. Fingers crossed.

Hi MJ! Thank you so much for your detailed response! Hope you are doing great! - Sandy

Edited to ask one more question. Do the nightstands have a USB connection?

Disney was actually a cheaper option?! Mark your calendars. Good to get that piece of info. Thanks.

Nice to know of a money-saving tip. Especially since the US government has sent us the tests.

Were the options for times fairly wide open?

Yes, there were many to choose from. I even had to cut the first appt short due to me not having all the info together that I needed and they send me a link to make a new reservation. I was able to make a new reservation for an hour from that time.

Hey Sandy....glad to help and you are welcome!!! Yes, I do believe there were USB outlets by the bed...at least on one side.

We were in Cabin 9666 and 9668. Connecting cabins with a Tiana design in 9666 and a Sleeping Beauty design in 9668. They were 8B ocean views.

Just rewatched a YT video of the Wish cabins. (Well, the interior room to get its info, as I would hope more expensive cabins are as well thought out).

USB on both sides of bed. One side has European electrical; the other has US.

The desk also has USB - and USB-C, also. And electrical.
