Mk Holders- What Should I Do?

OK, here's my dilemma- my MK renews in June. I plan on going to D23 provided I am able to score tickets on Thursday. I already have my room. I have planned six days, August 12 -18. Only planning on D23 for two days, Friday and Saturday.

I am worried about park rezzies if I wait until June. Should I go ahead and buy a regular park ticket as backup? Thats $655. If I renew my MK, I could still use it for discounts. Should I not renew and hope to get a new one later in the fall? I don't want to come in August and not be able to go to the parks.

How far in advance can MK holders make rezzies? I'm thinking it's around 60 days...I, of course, couldn't see past my renewal date even if the booking window was open...grrrrrr😝

What would you do?

It must be 90 days because I can book up til June 29th when I look today.

I'm not sure what you should do regarding the MK. Since I don't want to renew my own MK, I don't exactly want to tell someone else to renew theirs. However, if you are going to use it more than the D23 visit, I'd go ahead and renew it as soon as I could in order to make the park reservations.

Oh, it's not a question of NOT having a MK...I go numerous times a year...it's the risk of not being able to get rezzies that late in the game.

90 days though...good to know. Thx!

Does anyone have the historic info on MK sales? From initial search, it looks like August 2025 and maybe January 2026?

MK can reserve 90 days in advance. Is your MK expiration date in June or does your 30 day renewal window open in June? I honestly think you are going to be fine either way. Worst case is that you will have to spend some serious time with your phone loading and reloading the dates you want so that you can get them as people cancel.

June 14...so are you saying my renewal window would open 30 days prior to expiration date? Sorry I seem so dumb but Usually, its just "ho hum, time to renew" and this time I actually have to meet a deadline of some sort.

Yes, your renewal window should open around May 14 or 15. Once you renew, you will be able to book reservations with the renewed pass past your current renewal dates.

Also, personal experience for me is Disney seems to regularly add availability to the MK reservation pool. My guess is for this type of situation where people can’t book until they renew. I’ve seen days and weeks completely booked up then 2 or 3 weeks later all opened up again; that would only happen if Disney releases additional availability.

Where are you staying? If you’re on property you can book your park reservations from the hotel pool, even if the MK pool is sold out.

Yep. You can renew 30 days prior to your expiration date, so you will be fine. Once you renew, you will be able to make up to your full reservations limit for each the current soon-to-expire MK and also for the newly renewed MK.
