I just realized there is roughly one month for me to plan my PS for my January trip! WOO HOO!!!!!!

What WISH events are planned so that I can put them in my schedule???

Also -- what marathon events should I anticipate??

Anyone have "must do" meals or events while at WDW for the 1/2 marathon?? just nosy:teeth:

Mollli- I am in the process of trying to get a hold of Kamy and see if she has any plans. If she doesn't or doesn't respond, I think I'll just go ahead and call Disney dining to see what they have to offer.

Anyone here have any suggetsions of what they'd like to do??
I think that in general we were planning on the pasta dinner they serve at WWoS, the night before the marathon, And I thought something after the marathon - maybe for dinner or desserts, in the evening would be fun for sure.

Although I'm not doing the marathon, DH & I would love to join you for any meets scheduled for afternoon or evening hours! We live about 50 min away & hate the AM rush hour traffic so you won't see us early, but anything else is good. We want to be there to provide support & cheer everyone who is entering on! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

If thereis anything I can do locally to help set up a meet, please let me know! :wave2:

I can't wait to hear what's happening...can't wait to meet everyone!!!

OK- I haven't heard from Kamy yet- but I was able to.... through some great dectective work on my part :teeth: .... get some scheduled events.

I called and I was told that as of right now there are 2 events tenatively scheduled for Wishwalkers
1- Breakfast Buffet scheduled for Saturday morning- January 8 at the Hollywood hideaway (private dining Room) at MGM- no price info for me- sorry.
2- We were planning on everyone meeting at the Pasta dinner at WWoS for dinner.
3- we were hopping to have a sign making event for the group after dinner at one of the resorts. Maybe we can do it a BCV's. They have a huge room we could gather in and make signs for those that are running/walking to supprt them.
4- Dessert buffet scheduled for Sunday Evening Jan. 9 at French Island (France) inside EPCOT for a fireworks viewing. This sounds so great to me!!! Sorry- no cost pp yet!

I'll keep trying to get ahold of Kamy for better detail- in the meantime- just plan around those 4 things I guess!

I was thinking maybe we could book some GG events too for those staying longer then the weekend? We could do this in our own groups. Maybe something along those lines would be good? What do you think?

I can't wait to meet everybody, but is there any way we could arrange for one or two of the events to be outside the parks over the weekend? We weren't planning on using a day of our hoppers for either Saturday or Sunday. I thought that I wouldn't want to tire myself out on Saturday and that I would be too tired and it would be too late to use a whole days pass.

Are there any other people who are doing the half, but aren't going into parks Saturday or Sunday? What about a fireworks cruise (is it too late to book them?), or meeting at downtown disney or one of the resort restaraunts?

We will be going to parks mon-thurs. after the marathon. Either way, I'm sure I'll see a lot of you at the race. It doesn't seem that far away now.

Nothing is set in stone. And as far as I know- these things are all tenative. There are at least 2 events not in parks- pasta dinner at WWoS and the sign making event. I'll suggest maybe that we move one to a resort location- but nothing is guaranteed. That's why I suggested we get some groups together on our own and do some GG events- that'd be fun. I'm not in cahrge- but we sure can make suggetsions!

Would you be interested in organizing something?

Hi, I am back from my vacation that included Hurrican Charley. Is the pasta dinner and other planned events open to family members travelong with the walker/runner? My thinking is yes, but I don't want to assume anything.
Do we have to sign up for the pasta dinner and how?
Count me and my mom in for the dessert buffet, I always wanted to try that.

I am planning for Ohana's for dinner on Friday Jan 7th for me and my mom not sure of Sunday evening but probably something in the EPCOT area.

ok i'm having another blonde moment -- was is a "GG" ??

i'm not going to be able to take charge if that was directed my way:duck: i'm just obsessive and ready to make our little group of 4 plans for some dinners, etc and wanted to be sure I didn't plan something when there is a WISH event

Definately the pasta dinner at WWoS; and probably the MGM breakfast buffet for mom and I. The illuminations dessert sounds wonderful...............................I'll wait for the price before committing:eek:

If the pasta event is for families, we'll definitely want to attend that.

I would be happy to host something. I just don't really know what a host of a meet does:confused3 . All of the plans really do sound great! I hope I didn't step on any toes with my suggestions. I really do appreciate all the work that has already been put into this event, and would love to help out in any way that I can.

We probably will not get park passes for the weekend either. Unless I manage a great AP rate and decide to purchase an AP. Not sure yet.

GG- Grand Gathering.... any group of 8 or more people can plan these for themselves- I'm not sure of the details, but again- I'll try to get them. They have some VERY cute ones!

Tw1nsmom- no toes stepped on here!!! Not as far as I am concerned! We might need help- so I was just soliticing for it ;) Thanks for volunteering! I'll let you know what's happening- as soon as I know!!! Sorry if it sounded otherwise.

All WISHWalker events are open to WISHWalkers, their friends and families that come along with them. Last year, the pasta dinner was $8.99pp (txs. and gratuity NOT included) for all you can eat and has spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread&butter, choc. cake and soft drinks. No ressies needed for the pasta dinner! It was available last year for 2 days- all day Friday and Saturday. We'll just let everyone know what time to meet. Evidentally it looks like you can do PS's for this dinner- so we'll ahve to see what we do about that!!!

Please understand, everyone, that I am NOT the person arranging this stuff. I'm just trying to give you all an idea of things that have been talked about and what I could gather from calling group ressies this morning. Hopefully Kamy will get my emails and respond soon. Last time I talked to her she didn't have internet access and had to check her emails through her husbands work! It may be a while before she responds. BUT..... isn't it fun just thinking about it???

Hi Karen--- this is for you and Kamy.....

Since I'm planning on already having moved to Orlando, I can probably help out with planning &/or hosting something (not that I can a clue what that means!!!).

Keep me informed!

Thanks Monica- that is very useful information!!! ;) I'll let Kamy know and maybe the 2 of you can get together. She just moved down there as well!
