WISH Check-In Week of 4-6

WTG disneyaholic, I've got the .2 blues as well! Thx Kath for the encouragement.

Well I only lost a pound this week. I don't understand it. I don't eat any junk food, work out at Curves 4 days a week and I loose less weight than I did without working out? Any suggestions?

Lyn:confused:

Lyn are you drinking enough water? All those extra activity's you need extra water to stay hydrated. Drink all the water you can stay and it will pay big dividens! Good luck for next week.

PartyofSix:

I drink atleast 64oz of water a day. Do you think that is enough? Maybe I should increase it.

Lyn:confused:

I already posted my 5lbs loss earlier this week and have decided to stick to Thursdays as my weigh day as I started Atkins on a Thursday so it makes sense that way, but I did measure this week and whilst I am not going to post what they were - made me scream as my thighs are now what my waist used to be- I will say that I have lost 3 inches all over - 1 of them off the no longer expanding tummy:bounce:

Well done to all the losers and <<HUGS>> to the gainers

Katholyn- I LOVE your new clipart! You're just melting away. I hope your DH will be able to handle your ever-increasing hotness!:p

LynR- ONLY 1 pound??? What do you mean, ONLY!?! (Watch out, Nativetxn will give you a gentle little cyper-bop on your noggin!) One pound gone forever is a good week. At a rate of one pound a week, that would be 52 pounds in a year. Those one pounds DO add up, and very quickly!

Seriously, your body is a complicated machine. You are retraining it right now, giving it better fuel and teaching it to use it efficiently. Sometimes the really good or really bad things you do to it won't show up on the scales for a week or so. Then, of course, we all have daily fluctuations in our water retention due to hormones, sodium and fluid intake, and other factors. I find it helpful to actually look at my monthly rather than weekly losses as an indicator of my real progress. You are doing great!!! Don't let a single weigh in affect your motivation. One more pound gone! WooHoo!

SnackyStacky- Amazing. I am in complete awe of how you have transformed yourself. More than 135 pounds lost (15 with WISH). Absolutely unbelievable. It's hard to imagine all the different wonderful ways this has changed your life and your health. I'm speechless. (And thrilled :D ) I'm am so very glad you are here to help and inspire the rest of us. You go, Dan!!

jlawall and Disneyaholic- I can't wait to see your new clippies next week!!! Don't you just LOVE new clippies?!?!?

Elise- What a great feeling, to WATCH that extra padding melting away. I saw your photos on the Family Album board. You are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for spreading your contagious enthusiasm around!

As our darling Katholyn might say, we're all headed onward and downward this week!! Yay, everybody! I adore all my loser buddies:teeth:

Thanks Katholyn and Kathy!

Lynr, I don't know which weight loss plan you're using, but if it's anything other than Atkins, your carb intake might be too high. See if you can limit your carb intake (unles you're already doing Atkins!! :) ) and that might help speed the process.

Also, I don't know how long you've been working out, but muscle weighs more than fat. If you're building muscle, it might be slowing your progress because your muscles are getting bigger. And since that weighs more than fat, you'll have not so inspiring numbers at the scale. BUT, if you use a tape measure, THAT will show some amazing results.

Either way, a pound is a pound!!! That's 4 sticks of butter!!! (Or one big block for our canadian friends!!! ) Don't let the numbers win. If that had been PLUS one pound, instead of MINUS one pound, you'd be a lot more frustrated. You're doing great!!!!

SnackyStacky:

I do Weightwatchers online. I count points. I bet my carb intake is probably too high but I stay within my points range. I will try to cut back my carbs and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

Lyn:D

Lynr, now knowing that you're doing weight watchers, I can probably say that it's a combination of both of those things.

You're building muscle mass which is weighing more than your fat, and women have a harder time metabolizing carbs. Lower your carbs, and the pounds will come off.

:)

I almost missed some of last weeks check ins. YIKES. I was out of town, I have an excuse. Had to go see my son :)

Disneyaholic You are absolutely amazing. Losing over two pounds while on vacation. You are something else! Way to go, I hope you know that I'm proud of you.

lynr I'm glad to see my pal KathyTx has told you about that complaining about only losing one pound thingie ;) Whatever are you thinking? One pound a week is a terrific loss and I am proud of you for doing so well.

elisebutt I'm so happy for you losing so much in one week. You are doing so very well and I'm proud of you.

Okay, now I've seen all the progress for last week. I can't leave town anymore, it throws me off ;)

Am I the only one that used to play my mother's old 45 and do some "Goodbye, Chicken Fat...ladidadidaaada?" Well each pound that runs by I'm singing that song- I lost 2 pounds this week! TOM just hit yesterday and I still felt like a water tower (retention that is) but 2 were missing this week :) So I'm off to find how to replace my clippie with a "five'er"

John-Great job!!! 5 pounds in one week! That would bring me to my knees :)

And there's a couple of ladies that I feel I'm on the same track as you- so great job and keep the inspiration coming.

For those not realizing a loss this week- just remember me when I'm in your shoes- and you're posting a loss- we're all going to have those and it is discouraging- I was almost discouraged by a 2 pound loss because I did aerobics 3x and walked 2-3 miles 5x last week! Remember it might help to take measurements, because even if you do gain or not lose you might have shrunk some body parts!!

Thanks for letting me be a part
Here are my goals: I weighed 242 in January- lost to 236 by April and weigh 230 today! I've lost 6 pounds since starting WISH and want to be at 195 by our trip to Disney in September and to 175 by Christmas- would love to be at 150 but that might be too much. Slim-fasting the month of April and not hungry at all! Picking up /maintaining exercise the rest of this month.
