Can I sign up for June?

A rice cooker has saved my life! I can cook an entire Thanksgiving meal, but rice kicks my a**! It is another kitchen appliance, but it is so helpful. I can cook brown rice in about 30 minutes with no work. I add the rice, water and any seasonings, click the switch and I'm done. I love it!
I can't wait to join the June challenge. I am determined to lose this weight. I have a ton to lose, but every step forward is a step in the right direction.![]()
Woohoo Wednesday...
hmmm....I didn't wait until June to get back on the wagon.Best I can do this month. Oh, and I still got in a mile every day.
DOUBLE woohoo!!

I am trying rice in the crockpot today. I am not sure why I think this is a good idea, since it only takes ~2 hours, but I think if I could come home from work and throw it in and not think about it, that would be better than making it on the stovetop. Plus our apartment kitchen is tiny so less tripping over each other if there is one less thing to cook on the stove.
I am hoping I have hit rock bottom with the bad food choices. This has been coming for a while, but I think I am going to try a dairy free challenge for a bit in addition to the gluten. My stomach felt great when I did the week of paleoish type eating--no dairy. But I really missed the grains, so going to try a whole foods approach--with no dairy or gluten for a bit and see how it feels. Lots of people who give up gluten have to give up dairy too, I have just been in denial. Sooner or later something will make my tummy feel better--and hopefully help with some of the brain fog, other issues as well.
I think this is a good thing.![]()

It actually turned out pretty good and was silly easy. Rubbed the crockpot with coconut oil (instead of butter), added two cups of water and one cup of rice (I had basmati at home). Checked and stirred at one hour. Checked again 45 min later and all the water was cooked in and the rice was done. We don't have room for a rice cooker (or any other appliance right now) so this was a big help.![]()
Thought I'd share. Tonight I made dairy free 'ice cream'. It was pretty tasty and really easy.
You take very ripe bananas and break them into small pieces and freeze. Then blend in the food processor. There are lots of flavor options, but I threw in frozen cherries, a little vanilla and some choc chips. Took less than 10 minutes to make and we threw the leftovers in the freezer. Very creamy and rich.

Hey y'all. I haven't posted in past day or two because I honestly don't have much to share. Still meeting my step goal each day. Still behaving myself with food choices with the help of the Plexus Slim and Accelerator+. I ordered two new products today: Probio5 and Biocleanse. I've heard raves about the results people are experiencing when using these products. Everything from weight loss, reduced allergies, cured migraines, healthy energy... I'm excited to see how it works for me.
So anxious to hear more about this stuff.... especially the ProBio5. DS has intestinal issues and has been diagnosed with Leaky Gut syndrome and I am always trying to find a new way to improve the health of his digestive tract.
Since we moved to our new house, we are about a block from a walking park with a 1/4 mile track and a trail that goes off another 2 1/2 miles so, 5 miles out and back. We finally went out and walked there for the first time on Monday. It felt great to get out after the rain stopped. Especially since I was so sore from the outdoor projects I did on Sunday.
That sounds nice! We have a wooded trail about 3/4 mile from us, but it seems like every time I think about hiking it, it is either hunting season or bug season! We've been here 20 years and I think I've hiked it 3 times.
I can't believe this month is already coming to an end and our last weigh-in is Friday. I'm not gonna hit my goal but, since I didn't really get serious until half-way thru the month, I'll be perfectly happy with getting half-way to my goal and I think I'm about there.
Y'all have a good evening.![]()
Got on the scale today, 199.8, first time been under 200 in many years, super happy about that!!! still want to drop another 20, get down to my college weight of 25 years ago...![]()
I did a marathon meal prep day on Sunday.. I made and cooked Meatloaf, Shepards Pie, Taco Meat, Mac & Cheese. I also made up baggies of meat stuffing for Zucchini/Peppers, Zuppa Soup, Spaghetti Sauce, Pizza Topping. I made up baggies of burger pattys, chicken breast, boneless pork chops and a few smal pork roast, and some sirlion steaks and steak tips.. Also there are meatballs for subs and sauce, ham steaks, Digiorno pizzas and a bag of chicken tenders..
All in all I made dinnertime meals for 11 weeks! I never plan a meal for Sun and some weeks are missing Fri and Sat or just either Fri or Sat.. I was so tired by the end and we had someplace to be - I cut it very close .. But I am soo glad it's done!
My plan is to "shop" from the freezer for the main dish and supplement with sides.. I am trying to no heat up my oven often over the summer - my trailer get sooo hot! I am also going to try and limit the grocery store to every two weeks.. trying to cut out our impluse buying - we are awful!!
I spent a total of $330.00 on the meats, seasonings, bags, foil and containers. I figure I have about 55 meals (55/330 = $6 per meal for 3)and that going to the store every two weeks (milk fruits veggies sides snacks) should be $75 or less.. saving me about $50 per week and about $500 over the course of the 11 weeks.. we will see how it all works out..
Hello everyone!!
I am back - with a wonderful tan and some souvenir pounds on the scale (I am sure, haven't yet dared to step on the scale yet). But I am also wonderfully relaxed. Going on vacation for 4 weeks makes you feel like you have been away for half a year. What a bliss! I am seriously thinking to do that again next year!!Will post a few pictures when I got them all sorted (I took 2530 and then there are the ones that I bought on the cruise and at our sea lion encounter excursion and the DL photopass). I will also do a trip report again and will post a link once that is started in case anyone is interested. The Panama Canal cruise was absolutely fabulous and Disneyland is just awesome!
I am all set to host the thread for next month! And that will also be the starting point for me to get serious again (like step on a scale and start tracking again). At the moment I am still trying to readjust to life back home and the time zone. Jet lag makes me hungry in the early morning hours, but not at all for dinner, so my eating is a bit out of place. I also did not do well during vacation with making good choices. Certainly something I need to work on more in the future. I can do weight loss but since I never seem to get to my goal, I never got to practice maintaining my weight.
Anyway, but first it is back to losing weight. But I do not regret most of the foods I ate, I did enjoy them a lot!
Unofficial QOTD for Wednesday, May 28, 2014:
Of COURSE it is WOOHOO WEDNESDAY!! Thinking back through this month of May, share a WOOHOO moment that you had.... a moment on the scale, a moment when you made the SMART choice, a moment when you got a new PB time in a run (not thinking of anyone in particular of course, Lisa).... anything that made you say WOOHOO in regards to your healthy lifestyle!
Woohoo Wednesday...

Hi! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Much.
Magdalene, welcome back!! Your trip sounds amazing - I am thoroughly envious of such a long trip. I hope you're feeling refreshed and ready to dive back into everyday life. So glad you'll be back around the boards!
Woo-Hoo Wednesday: I did *not* want to get up and run this morning. Usually, I can pull myself out of that by reminding myself that I'm always glad once I get out there, but it was so hard today. But I got my butt out of bed, got my gear on, waved in the general direction of both DDs (who were already up, ack!), and got out for 3.1 lovely miles. I'm so glad I did; it really got my day off on the right foot. Haha.
We went to Boston for Memorial Day weekend! My sister is there now, with her daughters - we stayed up the street at my cousin's house while they were away in Maine. We had a great time on Saturday at my best college friend's house - he and his wife have two little girls, too, so it was the grownups and six little girls running around! Sunday we went to Lexington, MA, and enjoyed touring a couple of the historical sites and then lounging on Lexington Green. It was a beautiful day, and it felt very appropriate for the holiday.

So why am I bothering? I don't know. But I DO know that we will NOT make it to Sunday unless I get crazy creative! I don't tend to have canned or frozen produce on hand (unless it was something that I froze/canned myself) other than tomato products.
Tonight's carrot soup will have to change, since I remembered that the recipe called for one potato and an onion.... but I'll think of something!
Off to scour Pinterest for some recipes that include cheese, carrots, dates, and apples, since that is what I have on hand!TTYL.............P
So this morning for breakfast I took some of the frozen banana stuff and added it and some nuts and dried cherries to my rice. It was pretty tasty. I felt like it was cheating, but it was all healthy stuff except for a tiny bit of chocolate chips. I think I will do ok with the dairy free if I don't deprive myself of treats and PLAN. The planning is the part that always does me in.
Never thought of it for breakfast! YUM!!
I had a run in with a can of coke today, but all in all it was a pretty on plan day.
I am going to brag. We finished puppy class yesterday and the trainer said we have the best puppy ever.Ok, maybe she says that to everyone, but she told us that Jessie has a reserved spot in the next class. We are thinking about looking into training her to be a therapy dog. She is really pretty awesome.

I have been sooooo MIA!!! my apologies, my week in Vegas was fantastic but as par with Addison's I payed the priced when I returned. then memorial day weekend yard work, and appointments, I have just not been on my computer much at all this month!!
I did re-gain some weight on my trip, with the booze and eating out plus taking extra steroids to combat the heat, sleep disruptions and lots of activity. so I'm not sure if my weight is some water retention or burgers and booze LOL
but I'm back on the wagon and working out now and food journaling...i'll try to do some reading a catch up a little
Hey guys! I have been so MIA that I am not even going to try to catch upSorry. It's the end of the school year stuff that is piling on. But, I turned in my final grades today!
Next week is clean up and pack up stuff for the summer. I cannot wait until 11:30 on Thursday when I officially start my summer
WOOHOOO~!!
So, I am a little off track but totally committing to June and melting off some of these pounds that crept up! I'm hoping to be more active on the thread this summer as well. Hope to see everyone around
Jill
Please add me to the list of terrible May participants! I had celebrations EVERY weekend this month except the last one, plus my brother was here for my graduation from college and stayed 2 weeks. I cooked for him (he is a bachelor) all the foods from our childhood. I got all my exercise in and did awesome on that front, but just maintained because of all the bad eating I did. So I was in hiding!
But this last week I have turned things around and seen a significant loss. I am now in the 160s for the first time in a VERY long time and will be on the June thread to make sure I keep going in the right direction.
I see a lot of our participants also had really busy months. Thanks to our vigilant and faithful members for keeping this thread alive. It is helpful and very much appreciated!
Ok so it's 1:00 in the morning and I never posted today. Or, yesterday, if you wanna be technical.
I was down another 1.4 today which puts me at 4 pounds total for the month. It's not the 7 that I had set as my goal. But, considering I didn't get very serious about this until two weeks ago when I started up with the Plexus... I'm content with that.
Looking forward to the June challenge.
Y'all have a good night.![]()
Good morning everyone!! Congratulations to all of you who lost during May - however little it was!! It is all better than my gain. Stepped on the scale for the first time since the vacation today and the number was rather bad. Not as horrible as I feared but neither as only moderately bad as I hoped. So back to losing.
I will post the new thread later today, lots of things I need to do during the day today, but I guess if I post it at my evening time, it will still be only midday for all of you in the US!
Also, I am looking for coaches! Coaching will be for 5 days only (1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30), so easy to do! Let me know if you are up for taking on 5 days (either by PM or here in the thread) and which days you would be prefer!
