WISH Away the Pounds January Challenge -- Jumpstart the New Year -- Everyone Welcome!

Hey everyone. I know I am like a stranger, here.. I hardly ever get the chance to pop in and participate, but FYI things have just been absurd around here, with the holiday travel and the weather and the SURPRISE DISNEY VACATION I just got for my upcoming 40th birthday (in 3 weeks)...

my head is honestly swimming right now. I have no idea whatsoever how this is going to go down, since I usually spend about 8 months planning any given trip. FP+? ADRs? what a double blade of an amazing, wonderful gift (for which I am utterly completely grateful, but AHHHHHHHH!)

ANYWAY...

FUN FRIDAY QOTD for Friday, January 10, 2014:

Flip-flops or sandals: if I HAD to pick one, sandals. both end up hurting my feet so a nice pair of cute crocs (not the ugly traditional ones) will do fine...

play or musical: musical! I actually had a REAL job once in a musical (European tour of Hair) best time of my life before kids :D

blue or green: AQUA

contemporary or traditional: contemporary mind with respect to traditional style

pretzels or tortilla chips: pretzels!

procrastinator or done early: situational!

paperback or e-book/Kindle: I'm transitioning to e-books. as wonderful as the real thing is, REAL ESTATE

organized or hot mess: constant flow in organized patterns, hard to tell if you aren't a part of the cycle

early bird or night owl: early bird!

leader or follower: separate entity

soup or salad: salad, but very plain and dressing on the side

comedy or drama: comedy

clutter bug or minimalist: transitioning from the former to the latter!

I had a good first week. I am gonna mess up this weekend, scheduled debauchery at my MILs... but I bet if I keep with my MFP program, I will be able to drop one more by next week's weigh in! I have NO friends on MFP. if anyone here cares to add me, I'm NewTeapot74. As amazing as my big birthday gift is, I'm still putting it out there that I'd like a FitBit, maybe I'll gift it to myself for the trip.

I hope I can get in here a little more before the end of the month!

RoyalMom,

:hippie:

good morning all. work has been crazy this week, glad it is friday.

i'm up .2 this week but with how awful i ate, i'll take it. could have been worse.:thumbsup2

Flip-flops or sandals: flip flops.

play or musical: musical.

blue or green: green!

contemporary or traditional: it depends; a little bit of both i suppose.

pretzels or tortilla chips: dip or no dip? lol. pretzels by themselves, chips if there is some sort of dip.

procrastinator or done early: this depends too. at work i am always done early. at home, i'm absolutely a procrastinator.

paperback or e-book/Kindle: i love my nook for magazines but i still very much prefer the feeling of a book in my hand.

organized or hot mess: organized mess ;)

Love this one!!:rotfl:

early bird or night owl: early bird.

leader or follower: leader.

soup or salad: salad.

comedy or drama: comedy.

clutter bug or minimalist: minimalist. i often find myself saying "man, i wish i hadn't thrown that out" lol.

I also  GW!! it was my savior when the steroid weight piled on and I hated to spend $$ on sizes I was very upset to need to be in. now I'm :cheer2: to go there and buy clothes that fill in the gaps until I get back to the size I'm comfortable in. the GW I like the best changed their 50% of color policy to only two days a week!! bummer!!! it's 20 mins away so I'm not there regularly. my DDs both go GW shopping with me too which I think is great!

DS won't go near the GW usually.... but I dragged him in a few weeks before Christmas and he found some sort of gaming computer mouse, NIB for $15... worth about $50, so I might have made him a convert! DD runs hot and cold with it... sometimes it sounds like fun, other times it seems like a chore to her. I don't have any real near me (well.... I have NOTHING real near me), but if I am going into "town" there is a GW and a Savers in Manchester and a GW and a SA in Concord.... all about 40 minutes away. I try to hit them whenever I am in town, even if it is just a quick 10 minute stop. I always check shoes and dishware especially.

FUN FRIDAY QOTD for Friday, January 10, 2014:

Flip-flops or sandals: Flip-flops, good ones like new balance for support
play or musical: hmmmm...musical
blue or green: blue
contemporary or traditional: traditional
pretzels or tortilla chips: chips
procrastinator or done early: done early
paperback or e-book/Kindle: both! I have a kindle and love it but don't mind books either

organized or hot mess: both! LOL my hot mess is organized! I'm organized by nature but I can't keep up with my hot messes

LOVE THIS! Sounds like me!!

early bird or night owl: neither! I'm best to go to bed around 10 p.m and sleep until 8 a.m so I guess that's a semi-early bird

leader or follower: follower
soup or salad: salad
comedy or drama: drama
clutter bug or minimalist: minimalist

I love fun-Friday QOTD!!! I'm glad I'm coaching on a Friday coming up!!!

well this morning I had a shock on the scale. when I WI for the start of this challenge I had gained 7 lbs from November and I was heartbroken. I didn't feel like I had over eaten 7 lbs worth over the holidays!! today, the scale was back to the November number...so now I really believe that the day I WI for this challenge was one of my days of electrolyte imbalance and I was really really swollen. I do know that I was really swollen a lot around the holidays..all the extra activity and alcohol. so I've asked Lisa to adjust my start weight to my last WI on these challenges as I'm not at all comfortable saying I lost 6 lbs this week..i just did not. my excess water weight has flushed and that's health related. but I'm THRILLED to be back to the weight I thought I was at after all!!!!!

WOOHOO!! Glad you are back to a good number!

I think the most unhealthy thing that I do is too much sitting, at work, at home, just in general. Racing training is not enough to combat that. I increased my activity level considerably in 2013 and need to continue that in 2014. :thumbsup2

Go ActiveLink!!;)

I do confess to drinking diet soda but it is less than it used to be and I have lots of other things to work on before I give that up. :duck:

It's all about some balance, right?

Lots of Disney races to dream about for sure. :smickey:

BRB dang smilie police.

I'm seeing some great numbers in my PM box. I will be updating tomorrow morning so get your name in the hat now. :goodvibes:

WOOOHOO for all of the good numbers!

I am suffering from envy over all the folks having a great time at Marathon week-end this week-end. It is so fun to see all the excitement.

I am glad that I've had some good NSVs this week because I was more than a little frustrated at my WW weigh in -- up .2 WTH? :confused3 Giving up doesn't work too well for me and with the Princess looming no place to go but down. princess:

Neener, neener poof fairy! :teeth:

Good attitude.... and one that I need to adopt because this morning's number was a :scared1: for me.... and not in a good way!! So you are RIGHT.... no place to go from here but DOWN!

Good morning, all! Today is National Bittersweet Chocolate Day - as well as Peculiar People Day. This is the time to look for the good in the "Peculiar" around you.

Love that!!:rotfl:

Bittersweet chocolate definitely has its health benefits - just not with a class of milk! Having a piece of chocolate with milk is equated to eating milk chocolate - the dairy cancels out all the health benefits. (Yes, this is what years of being a chocolate walking tour guide gets me - useless knowledge lol)

So, go eat a bite of some bittersweet chocolate with a peculiar person!

:lmao:

Did you work at Hershey???

24 hours and 2 pages to go through! You guys are awesome!

Today marked my 6th day on Power90 - which means I've successfully completed an entire week and get a rest day tomorrow. Honestly - the real reason I've been excited is to TURN THE PAGE! There is this workbook that comes with the DVDs and there are two pages for your first week - you track your progress and write down what you've completed. It also has some helpful advice for the first week struggles. I have started this program so many times, but never been able to turn the page for Week 2! Today I did! It was really a wonderful feeling!

That DOES sound like a wonderful feeling! Congratulations on that accomplishment!!

Of course, that combined with my nice W/I this morning, meant I forgot to finish my breakfast before prancing out the door to work. I'm definitely feeling the 10:30am tummy grumbles. Does anyone have a mid-morning snack? I'm usually starving by lunch so I hear having a snack around 10am could make lunchtime a little easier. Any ideas?

Mid-morning snack for me is usually protein or fruit. I usually only eat a mid-morning snack if I am either absolutely starving or if I ate a particularly low-PointsPlus value breakfast. Here at school I tend to grab some sort of cheese, 100 cal pack of nuts, or an apple.... super easy and portable. At home it tends to be a grapefruit, hardboiled egg white, or a cheese. A small yogurt might hit the spot as well.

I LOVE coupons!!! :goodvibes: I love when everything gets rung up, and then you scan a bunch of coupons and the prices goes down. It is the greatest feeling! Groupons especially - when I go somewhere and I know other people are mad because I'm paying half price just because I looked it up online before I went. :) Smart shoppers are the best shoppers!

I love it when the coupon deals work out! I bought three different Groupon deals as Christmas gifts for the kiddos.... indoor surfing, Segway tour, and a whale watch! And the best part is that the Segway tour and whale watch I included myself!!

Apparently there was a frozen pipe? But, we've had heating problems for months now. The apartment warmed up ten-fold just from the temperature increasing last night, so I'm sure one of the pipes came back on. I've decided to wait on a space heater until it gets really cold again, and until I do enough research to feel comfortable buying one.

Glad things are back to normal!

Hope your trip was AMAZING!!! Heard so many interesting stories about Disneyland Paris - hope your trip was full of them, too! And yes, if you are going to gain a few, better 4-star meals than popcorn on the couch.

FUN FRIDAY QOTD for Friday, January 10, 2014:

Flip-flops or sandals: Sandals - thongs always hurt my feet!

play or musical: musical and my super dorky reason why is because a former teacher once told me that in musicals, people sing because what they have to say is so important, that they can't just say it - they have to sing it. :)

I've never heard that but I love it!!

blue or green: blue (all shades)

contemporary or traditional: contemporary outlook with traditional values

pretzels or tortilla chips: pretzels

procrastinator or done early: always done early at work - always procrastinate at home

paperback or e-book/Kindle: I love my Kindle, but its nice to have a book to hold and smell

organized or hot mess: organized chaos

early bird or night owl: night owl

leader or follower: I march to my own drum. If people follow, awesome. If not, I'm still marching.

soup or salad: soup

comedy or drama: comedy

clutter bug or minimalist: clutter bug... would be a hoarder if I didn't live in a teeny apt

Just looked up what NSVs are - I had never heard of them before! How cool! Definitely something I need to be more aware of! Glad you had some this week and I'm sure the scale will reflect them next week!

Maybe our weekend QOTD should talk about NSVs!

does anyone drink detox water - the one with Lemon, Cukes, Mint and Maple Syrup?? does it work??

HAVE done it, though not lately; in the summer we did a fridge tap container of lemon/cucumber/mint water and it's funny, I suddenly remembered and thought we might start a batch Sunday night when we come back from our trip...

It's tasty. If only for that, I would! enjoy...

(coming from a non-cucumber person)

well I like all the flavor but am afraid it might send me to running to the bathroom (not be be gross for the #2's) do you find that to be the case till all the toxins are cleaned out?

hey gang -- OT here -- does anyone have a good thread to explain to me FassPass + and that's if it even applies to us since we are staying at the Swan?

Well, I'm about 3/4's the way caught up...Between working, cat and dentist appointments, and workouts haven't had much time to read the boards. Have come up with a genius way to keep up, I just look at my history and wholla there's where I left off. Was also frustrated because my copy and paste wasn't working and my space bar was sticking. After consulting the internet and my son I just jiggled the bar and something fell out now it works lol. Also after consulting internet decided to look up how to copy and paste and I wasn't doing it right....HA! Forgot how to copy and paste--that's how long it's been since I've been on a message board.
Anyway will catch up on some quotd's then probably catch up more later. Want to go work out before the muscle milk turns to fat.

Whichleads me to the QOTD for Saturday, January 4, 2014: Are you surprised by how much (or little) you can eat for the calories, depending on which foods you choose? Do you have a meal that you enjoy that gives you a lot of bang for the calorie buck?
I like stir fry.
QOTD Sunday, January 5, 2014: What is your favorite way to add self-care into your busy life? Do you like to treating yourself to a luxury item, like a massage or a bubble bath? Take some quiet time to read, journal, or exercise or spend time with the people you love?
Spending a little time with kitties cuddling in bed in the AM.

QOTDfor Monday, January 6, 2014:

After all of the holiday eating and excuses, what is the best way that you have to get yourself "back in the wagon" (i.e. back on plan)? Do you do a few days of juicing? Extra time at the gym? Be super strict about your food journaling? Read an especially inspiring quote?

If this is your first "ride in the wagon", what do you think will help you in the future if you get off plan?

Cutting back on food portions-- eating about a 1/3 less than I would. Lots of water, cutting back on alcohol---I need to start doing that...lol.

Works still been crazy but it looks like my co worker (who cut his finger off) will be back next week and I'll have somewhat of a normal schedule. It's really been killing me though not seeing my friend hardly at all, plus my husband's been sick and he's just such an *** when he is. Plus his dumb car needs some repair an he will continue to be in a dirty mood until the precious is fixed...:crazy2:
Will catch up later...Susan

I am back from a week in Paris and Disneyland Paris... Not a good idea to have a vacation just after Christmas - weight-wise that is. Otherwise it was just wonderful!!! Will try to post a few pictures soon!

Stepped on the weight today for the first time in 3 weeks and got an awful shock: I managed to gain nearly 10 pounds!!!!!!!!!

I knew I was not eating well at all. But that I could gain that much that quickly... Anyway, that cannot be changed and at least many of the meals I had I truly enjoyed, so at least I did not gain on crap but on wonderful four course meals in Paris and homemade Christmas cookies.
That sounds like an amazing trip! Can't wait to see pictures.
Doesn't it suck that you can gain 10 pounds in a week or 2 but it takes a month or 2 to lose it? Just doesn't seem fair!:sad2: Hopefully a good bit of it is water and will come off quickly.

FUN FRIDAY QOTD for Friday, January 10, 2014:

comedy or drama: comedy

clutter bug or minimalist: clutter bug all the way

:woohoo: I love a good "woosh"!

Morning again! I'm done with my first class of the day and ready for the next. But sadly, I am ending up with recess duty in the snow today :headache: and I stupidly wore my GOOD boots, not my snow boots..... and I'm supposed to be in the lower field! I'm going to pretend I don't know that and just plant myself on the pavement area!

I was debating about going to DD's tomorrow and staying for two nights or going on Sunday and only staying one (we have tickets to a show Sunday evening).... I think we can find some good, clean, non-caloric, cheap, fun, don't you!?

BBL to chat!...........P
Always assume you will have recess duty. And lunch duty! You know the teachers love to give it to the sub whenever they can. :)

Sounds like you will have a great time with your DD-- enjoy it!

Phew.... caught up! Off to grab the kiddos from lunch! And double woohoo.... outdoor recess got cancelled and I don't have to go out!.....P
:yay:

RoyalMom (thought I quoted your post but I guess not) When will you be at WDW? We are there the last week of Jan. I didn't really start to do any planning until over Christmas and that is really late for me. Heck, usually by now I would be packed!

Got up early this morning and got to work early and it was nice to be able to then leave earlier. Had a pretty quiet day at work so that was good. I thought we might have a fire drill since the weather has warmed up a bit but that didn't happen so I need to be prepared next week!

DD18 is at the state theater festival and I just got a call from a young man there telling me he found and ipod with my phone number as MOM. :headache: So she has lost her ipod and probably doesn't even know it. I tried to call her but she isn't answering her phone. I texted her to call me but she said she texted back that she couldn't-- she is watching a play. I told her she had better call me as soon as it is over, before they go back to the hotel. I had the boy turn her phone in to the Registration Desk and I want her to get it tonight, before they leave so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. I don't want to text her the information because I am not totally sure where she is and if the registration is in the same place she is. I am afraid with texting she will just get confused. So frustrated with her.

Anyway, had a good day today. Stayed on plan for the most part. Went out for dinner and had a steak, no butter, and steamed broccoli.

Someone asked about eating morning snack-- I eat snacks throughout the day. I am supposed to eat about every 2-3 hours and it has been that way with every diet plan I have been on (and believe me, I have been on many of them!). I usually have breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 then a snack around 10:30. We have lunch at 12 which is really too early for me so a lot of times I put it off for at least 30mins. I tend to be most hungry in the morning so I really need that morning snack. I usually have a snack around 2ish and another one when I get home from work around 4:30-- the other time when I am starving. We eat dinner around 6:30-7 most nights. I can't eat anything after dinner because I have to take thyroid meds when I go to bed and it has to be taken 2-3 hours after your last meal.

A lot of times my meal at 12 and snack at 2ish are really just all my lunch. I will break it into 2 parts and have half at 12 and the other half at 2. I go heavily towards protein but need a little carb boost especially in the morning. Of course with medifast those meals are all very structured so that makes it easier. Eating every few hours helps to keep your blood sugar steady and keeps you from ever becoming "starving". If you are feeling really hungry, then you probably waited too long to eat and that is when I know I make very bad choices (Hello Peter Pan PB, my old friend :rolleyes1) or overeat even the stuff that is on plan. Then that messes me up for the rest of the day.

I think that this thyroid thing has helped a lot since I am forced to be much more structured in the day because I can't eat after 8pm. That is when a lot of mindless snacking on junk food popcorn:: would take place. And if I snack too much at 4pm then I am not hungry at dinner time which means I may not be able to eat again until morning even if I get hungry later. So I have to try to keep to a schedule and plan or I end up miserable!

Crisis has been averted. While I have been typing this DD called and was able to get her ipod. She got a new Ipod 5 for Christmas and really wanted to take it with her this weekend and I talked her out of it because she would be very unhappy if it was lost or broken. So she unhappily took her ancient Ipod2 instead. Hopefully this helps her understand why we told her not to take the new one.

Okay, it is way past my bedtime. Talk to you all tomorrow! Going to get my preDisney pedicure tomorrow. May see if she can do any Mickey designs!

I missed posting yesterday :( but I kept up with everything else I set out to do for the New Year, so I am considering that a victory.

I got the results of the skin biopsy--benign--so that's a relief.:) Now I just have to wait to hear if I have to have the endometrial biopsy or more tests related to the ultrasound yesterday. This early menopause thing has thrown me for a little loop. Every time I encounter a new health care professional I hear the same comments--I wouldn't have guessed it, you are so young. It really isn't that big a deal, but it is taking my brain a little while to get used to it. If that makes sense. The issue is more that it is bubbling up some stuff--like the fact that we wanted four kids and only had one. Again--nothing earth shattering, just trying to let my brain sort out some of this stuff once and for all, and then I will move on. :goodvibes

I did have an unfortunate encounter with some peanut m&ms and pretzels dipped in peanut butter yesterday, but today is a new day, so ready to move forward. Hopefully by next Friday it won't matter.

Have a great Saturday, and thanks for letting me 'talk' things out a little. :)

I am soooo excited!!! I was cleared to start forearm planking and body pump with bar only as long as I wear my splint and back to using my cyborg arm to work on my wrist moving!!!
Never thought I would be so excited to do planks but I just feel awful and am hoping I can get back into a regular exercise routine again!!

Still a long way to go for full mobility and strength but really hoping that removing the pins and plates will help...

Stay strong everyone!

Yay for good news!

Sorry the scale is not pretty right now, but I'm sure you'll take care of it :) I'm glad you enjoyed your trip and I can't wait to see some pictures. DL Paris sometimes gets a bad rap for being dirty and people being rude, so I'm interested to see what you think.

Morning all! I'm here with the QOTD, but I'm at work and my schedule doesn't have any breaks, so I probably won't be on to chat until I get home later.

Does your grocery store do e-coupons? I really like them because then you don't leave them behind . . . well, maybe that doesn't happen to you. ;)

Neener, neener poof fairy! :teeth:

One store I shop at does has e-coupons. Even so, I still don't buy a lot of stuff that there are coupons for. Don't get me wrong, I love a good bargain and try to save as much as I can. But, I wish there was a way to save on fresh produce and meats. I watched an extreme couponing show and a woman bought 97 boxes of hamburger helper. Why? Yuck!!

So, go eat a bite of some bittersweet chocolate with a peculiar person!

I am loving all the daily updates but I did not get to do this!

24 hours and 2 pages to go through! You guys are awesome!

I love coupons, too! I would love to go grocery shopping and only spend $20 for the week, but with fresh produce, and no coupons, it's not happening. And, we don't eat out much, but if we do, it involves coupons lol.

I am so glad the iPod situation was resolved. It's nice to know there's honest people out there!

A Disney inspired pedicure sounds like a good way to treat yourself for all your hard work :)

So glad that your biopsy was good news. Hopefully you will not have any more medical situations pop up!

Hello everyone :goodvibes

I went to the gym this morning and ran 5 miles on the treadmill since it was pouring out. Did I ever mention how much I dislike running on the treadmill?? :rotfl2: I cannot seem to run my pace at all. I feel like I will fly off or something. So, it took me longer than I hoped, but I did it. Now as I am sitting here, I am wondering why I ever thought running a half marathon would be fun! I'm not so sure running 13 miles would be fun at all. Hmmm...I may have to rethink this plan of doing 2 this year :rotfl: Maybe I'll just try for a race a month and keep it smaller, like 5k and 10k. Although, I could still do a Disney race and walk instead of run. Boy, I'm all over the place with this one now!

I actually have no other plans today and not much for tomorrow either. I do have to go grocery shopping, but think I'll do that while the boys are at Sunday School. I only have a small list and can easily get in and out in 50 minutes. I have to get gas as well but need to compare prices on the Gas Buddy app. I live in PA but am about 1-2 miles from Ohio. Gas is usually so much cheaper in Ohio, so it's worth the 5 minutes to run there since my Pacifica has a bigger tank. The savings all add up!

Guess I better get going and take down the Christmas tree. It's the only thing left that we haven't put away yet because the kids wanted to keep it up. But, I would like my entry room back to normal! Have a great weekend!

Jill

I'm so excited, I lost an entire pound this week! I actually tracked and stayed in my points.

My week restarts on Thursday and I have admittedly not tracked during the current week. Thursday my blood sugar dropped. It's been a long time since that has happened and I didn't have my glucose tabs with me, so I ended up eating some not okay stuff. Yesterday I went to a Nepalese restaurant with my family and had no clue how to track it. I think I am okay points wise and will be tracking the rest of the week. I did manage to do my week 1 day 3 of my couch to 5k.

I am proud that I have stuck with eating vegetarian. I have been trying lots of new foods and doing a lot of cooking, which has the benefit of much fewer processed foods.

Good morning all and happy sunny Sunday from the beautiful state of Rhode Island!
I'm so sorry that I didn't get on here yesterday with a question of the day!

I awoke at 6:00 am to no electricity and it didn't come back on before I had to leave. Then I tried to log on here last night using DD's tablet and for somestrange reason it wouldn't recognize me and I got locked out! That has never happened to me on the Dis!
Any how, here I am! I will post a delayed weekend QOTD and then be back to chat..........P

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Our colors are updated so be sure and check out our beautiful colors! :rainbow:

Good morning, all! Today is National Bittersweet Chocolate Day - as well as Peculiar People Day. This is the time to look for the good in the "Peculiar" around you.

:lmao:

Hey everyone. I know I am like a stranger, here.. I hardly ever get the chance to pop in and participate, but FYI things have just been absurd around here, with the holiday travel and the weather and the SURPRISE DISNEY VACATION I just got for my upcoming 40th birthday (in 3 weeks)...

Nice to see you, Jaki! Kudos to you for being WISH lime green! :yay:

does anyone drink detox water - the one with Lemon, Cukes, Mint and Maple Syrup?? does it work??

Sounds interesting except maybe for the maple syrup. :rotfl:

hey gang -- OT here -- does anyone have a good thread to explain to me FassPass + and that's if it even applies to us since we are staying at the Swan?

It's pretty hard to find a FastPass+ thread that isn't filled with snark. :sad2: A quick Google search looks like maybe you will be doing paper fastpasses. I would call guest services and see what kind of answer you get. I'm sure you will have fun no matter what kind of FP you have. :cool2:

Well, I'm about 3/4's the way caught up...Between working, cat and dentist appointments, and workouts haven't had much time to read the boards. Have come up with a genius way to keep up, I just look at my history and wholla there's where I left off.

That is a great tip, Susan. :thanks:

:woohoo: I love a good "woosh"!

:lmao: Oh tag fairy!

I missed posting yesterday :( but I kept up with everything else I set out to do for the New Year, so I am considering that a victory.

It's hard to keep up on the Dis and all the happenings at WDW this week-end. ::yes::

The road to a half marathon is full of ups and downs for sure, Jill! You don't get many opportunities to do something totally amazing just for you as an adult -- I say go for it! :cheer2:

:woohoo: and congrats on finishing week 1 of the C25K.

I apologize for being a bit MIA this week-end. Between cheering all the WISHers at WDW and did my 11 mile miles on the track yesterday.

Enjoy your Sunday all! :goodvibes:

Good morning, all! :goodvibes:

Happy Sunday! Yesterday was so busy, I'm so happy to have a Sunday off to relax. Of course relaxing = laundry, dishes, grocery shopping and planning class notes, but I can spend most of the day in my cozy robe!

I missed telling you guys that yesterday was National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day! Would have been great for that rainy day! Today, however, is Stick to Your New Year's Resolution Day! Perfect for DIS!

Thank you for all the morning snack advice! I'm gonna invest in some portable snacks! :thumbsup2:

Did you work at Hershey???

Haha no! I used to work for a company in Boston that gave chocolate walking tours around town haha LOTS of chocolate info in my head!

Hope there are no more surprises coming your way!

Because you are an incredibly brave woman who knows that she can do it! We know you can do it too! :)

I like quotes that remind me how lazy I used to be. Like - no matter how fast you run, you are still lapping everybody on the couch. Things like that.

But, I think "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." is my favorite.

I chose to have my cheat day friday, and it sorta bleed in to sat :/ I was really good with my calories today, so Im way better then I used to be.

I got my reward for 30 pounds lost, and I got a gel mani. I am SO going to be doing this more often! she said next time I can bring in some ideas for disney nails. :cool1:

I got the 30 day shred dvd, and I am going to be starting that tomorrow, along with my spin. And the bikini body mommy work out. I think I have a work out addiction! lol

Darn, I missed it! I would have loved to go out and splash my kids! When they were little I would take them outside in the rain to play in the puddles. Neighbors (and husband!) thought I was crazy but it was so much fun!

So not feeling motivated today so the only thing that came to mind is "It is hard to soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by turkeys!" :duck: Okay, so I think that is a Demotivational quote actually.:rolleyes1

The only other thing that came to mind was something said by Dr. Phil, way back when his show started and he was doing a weight loss show. He said something to the effect of: look at where you are now, and think about where you will be a year from now. A year from now you will weigh more or less than you do now. You are the only one that can decide which it will be. I don't know why, but when he said that to the woman he was talking to it really struck me and has stayed with me.

I got my reward for 30 pounds lost, and I got a gel mani. I am SO going to be doing this more often! she said next time I can bring in some ideas for disney nails. :cool1:
I had a pre-Disney mani/pedi yesterday and considered seeing if she could do some Mickey Heads. Ultimately decided against it but thought of a great product-- OPI did a Minnie Mouse collection a few years ago and I want to see a Mickey Mouse collection with a Mickey red and then a clear with black Mickey head confetti in it-- that would be SO cool! Or confetti of the Mickey Body parts pattern that is so prevalent at Disney with the white glove, yellow shoes, red shorts and black ears. That would be sooooo cool!

:wave2:
Not a great on plan weekend. Not horrible, just not great. I weighed on Friday and was pretty surprised and happy at the number I got. But then it was up .3 on Saturday and up another .5 this morning (my official personal weigh in day is Sunday). :guilty: I did a bunch of cooking today to prepare for next week and I am going to try to have a VERY 100% OP week. That will require cutting back on a few of the extras I have let creep in but I think that is why my loss has really slowed down. One extra doesn't hurt so I will have 2, which leads to 3 and 4 and the next thing I know I am sitting on the pantry floor with a serving spoon, the peanut butter jar and a bag of chocolate chips. You know how when you start a new diet plan you are always so careful the first few weeks to follow ALL of the rules exactly as they are and do not experiment or deviate at all? That is what I need to do. There are a lot of ways that I can deviate and while one a day might not be too bad I have been relaxing the rules way to often. Time to kick my own butt and get a few more pounds off before we leave for Disney in 12 days.

Gotta run and figure out what we are having for dinners this week. Last week I kept forgetting to take meat out of the freezer and that was a disaster. :sad2:

Everyone have a great week!
