Wise Guys ... ? What is he talking about?

Howdy, DISer's, I need your help?

My DBro is in Afghanistan and with the wonders of SKYPE my family was able to talk and SEE DBro on the computer. It was fabulous talking to him and my parents (both in their 80's) were just in AWE! Mom, of course, started crying the minute she saw him. And then the two of them placed their chairs right in front of the computer and spent 45 minutes talking to DBro.

Anyway, DBro's bday is the end of September and we are all going to send birthday gift boxes to him.

Mom wrote down his "wish" list and on it he would like anything from the WISE GUYS Series ... can anyone help me figure this out ... who is in this 'movie' or was it on 'tv'? I tried googling it and am not sure exactly what he is talking about.

DBro is a Col/ARMY; he left July 1st and is in command of 7,000 soldiers ... and he gets requests from the soldiers as to DVD's to watch. Biggest request was for WISE GUYS! Plus any $3.00 and $4.00 DVD's ... I don't even know if there are DVD's for that price but I will check Wal-Mart just the same.

Ok and the other request - COFFEE!!! Some would like Dunkin Donuts coffee and others would like Newman's Own Special Blend ... I am leaving that one for M&D as they live in New England!!! They can easily get DD's coffee there.

The Ken Wahl TV series was called WISEGUY (no S on the end.)

There was also a movie called WISE GUYS from 1987; it starred Danny DeVito and Joe Piscopo, and is notable for being a comedy directed by Brian diPalma (not the best combination, you understand.) Your brother probably is talking about the TV series.

Kar, in addition to the walmart $5 movies I always pick up used movies from places like blockbuster. Usually run some kind of 4 for $20 and semi newer movies. Do you have a dvd burner? I had good luck just TIVOing something and then burning it to a dvd.

Tell your mom and dad to add hot chocolate and biscotti and stuff too. I made a great coffee box once a month that the guys just loved with coffees and flavored creamers and hot chocolate, ciders,biscotti and hard cookies.

If ya'll need anything that I can do just let me know.

YES, that is what I was having trouble with ... and I am positive DBro wants the WISEGUY series from tv!!!

It will get really cold there soon though so the hot beverages will be super nice for sure.

Matt is great. He is still away for work but hopefully will be home soon. I broke my ankle and now have a gorgeous raspberry pink cast on my ankle, my driving ankle of course. Oh well just more cardio for me right or reason to eat the bad things
