Tuesday of Easter Week.

OK, we are dealing with Teenagers here, a little drama. Today was Magic Kingdom Day. Woke every one up early again, and made sure they brought all their equipment on the bus.

First of all, there was 13 chaperones. 5 male and 8 female. 3 of the guys decided they were the ALPHA MALES.

They would make decisions before we loaded the bus and then tell the kids on the bus what the day would be like and what time to be there.

Hey, I'm a chaperone, I am exclusively in charge of 12 girls. But hey, yelling on the bus directions, teenagers listen, ya right. I told one of the Alpha Males, that system don't work. We should be all included on the decision making and then tell our own group what will happen. Alpha male says, "if they can't listen on the bus, that is their problem" WHY AM I HERE THEN!!

Got to the Magic Kingdom at 5 with the best bus driver in the World. My son and goddaughter followed me with 3 of her friends. Goddaughter said just go and we will follow.

We said hi to Walt and Mickey and walked through the castle to the Railroad rollercoaster. Got on and went to splash Mountain. Walked back over to Space Mountain and the time said 30 minutes. They kids didn't have their tickets cause Alpha Males said they would Park Hop and they didn't want them loosing their tickets. Whatever.

We waited over 1 1/2 hours, why can't they post the times right.
One of my girls called her boyfriend on her cell (Oh yes roaming was applied here) for 30 minutes. 1st nite away he cheated on her. They did make up, but she couldn't let it go. After Space she called him back again. I said you forgave him, why keep needling him, ah drama!

Went on the Metro for a relaxing ride, and tried to find a resturant where our coupons were good for, went to a Cafe in Tomorrowland. One girl sneezing and blowing her nose and yelling "I have SARS". Gave her some medicine and got her fed and she felt better.

Me and my son left them after lunch and went on the big Ferry Boat and then met up with my sisters in front of the castle.

We all told our stories about what we did the last couple of days.
We went to Adventure Land and cruised right through.

Met up with my husband and daughter went back and did Adventure Land again.

Son had to line up at 630 for parade at 8:40. Alpha Male said just like the army, hurry up just to wait.

Me and husband and daughter went to splash Mountain. Had fast passes for 6:45, brother in law got on without and him and nephews went on and waited 1 hour and then they broke down for 1 hour. Yikes. We did haunted mansion and Dumbo and they still weren't off. Nephew said, that a CM said if everyone wouldn't be calling in at the same time, the phones wouldn't jam and no one new what was going on.

Watched parade at 8:40. They ended up at Frontier Land. I had to go with my son again, and kissed my husband and daughter good bye.

Everyone walked back to the Castle to watch the rest of parade.

We watched the rest of the parade on the walk way out of Adventure Land. We were told after the fireworks to go to Town Hall. The Alpha Males should of said the entrance. Many kids went to Liberty Hall area.

We had everyone, but 3 boys, who was in the Alpha Male group took off and went to an Arcade. They didn't find them till 10:45.

Got back to the hotel, all kids went to bed to be back up at 5:30 a.m. to be back to the Magic Kingdom in uniforms to accommodate Disney for a group picture.

Gotta luv Disney

5:30 is way too early to get up for a picture!! Sounds like yall are having fun.

I have a question for you Snuggles

I see you are going with your band. Our band has been going to Disney for the last 20 years. We are invited back every 4 years, during Easter week.

We have Fund Raisers and Parents usually end up paying or the kids meet the required amount. Anyhow, I know our band director has good intentions, and it is an honor to play at Disney, but couldn't Disney accommodate these bands with decent lodgings.

I talked to a CM at Epcot selling Time Shares and he told me they could go to the Value Resorts and a new resort is being built.

This is true, but you have to remember these are highschool kids. We paid $35 a room at the Ramada Plaza. We were not the only highschool band at the Ramada, there was 3 other groups from around the U.S. there. Everyone was very well behaved.

I just feel, these kids are Disney's future. Most kids in the band, want to be in the band, are usually on the honor roll and take pride in what they do. I feel Disney is loosing out on a lot of potential customer's that could be filling their resorts. We had at least 75% of parents that came from WI to see their kids play. Many stayed in our hotel, only to check out and find cleaner accommodations.

Our pins and tee-shirts said "Magic Music Day", so it is a special time for bands and choirs at Disney and something should be done to accommodate these kids better. I think the PR people are missing the boat with the kids that march and play for them. Like I said, they are the future of Disney, show them the Magic when they are teenagers and they will be back as adults.

Wow. This is bringing back some memories of my many trips in my 10 years of middle/high school/college bands, although we never did go to WDW:mad:
