Wireless Printer Recommendations?

I've used an awesome HP 12 x 12 printer for over 10 years now. However, the quality is just not good enough for my creative projects anymore so I'm ready to purchase new printer. I talked to a techie friend of mine who said all printers lose quality over time so it's not that this was a bad product. I'm hoping some of you creative people who have purchased printers recently can tell me what you recommend. Quality of the printing is more important to me than price (though I don't want anything extravagant).

I am partial to Canon for printers and my camera. We have the MX850 Canon printer. It is a few years old but I am so pleased with it. Last night I printed a t-shirt design I had made just to make sure it printed nice and was amazed at how much better it looked on print then on screen, though it looks pretty cute on screen too, lol! I am sure HP has a great printer out there too but we like the Canon, it works on wireless too as our lap tops were set up to print on it as well.

We have an HP Deskjet 3050A J611 series wireless printer. It is a scanner, printer combo job and I am very happy with it. We got it last year when we upgraded to a laptop and it was a 'buy a laptop get a printer' deal. I think we did pay a little for it, Maybe $20 or $50 or something. Anyway, it does a good job for what I need and it is great to be able to sit anywhere in the house and print without having to take the laptop and plug it into the printer. Also, we have it setup so you can print to it from your smartphone or tablet, you don't need to be within the house!! (Don't ask me how, my brother does all the setup!)

My SIL has a Kodak combo printer and she loves it! She is always scanning and printing photos and so on. I'm not sure what model she has or how much she spent on it but it was way more than $50!!

The other thing to consider when buying a new printer is the price of the ink to refill it. Also where can you buy it? We had a printer that it was really hard to find the ink for so that was the real reason we upgraded!
