I'll be at the Beach Club Villas next week.
Anyone know if they offer wireless internet there? Possibly in the lobby or maybe in the convention centre?

Thanks

The Boardwalk has wireless, but not the Beach Club. I didn't think there was a convention center at the Beach Club...

Thanks

Looks like I'll be able to sit by the pool and check out the weather back home!

Thanks for the correction, Debbie. I don't remember seeing BC on the wireless list when it was first published.

I see that the Swan & Dolphin (Starwood-owned) have it for no extra charge, does this include the common areas? Staying at BWV, if I wanted to surf some things for a little while, maybe I can walk over to the S&D lobby? I have a hard time justifying the $10 if just using it short term.

I wish Disney would offer WiFi free, but I know that will never happen. Disney soaks you every chance they get, nothings free. But so many hotels, coffee shops, airports, convention centers, etc, now have free WiFi as a standard service, I wish Disney would see it as a standard service now too this day in age. Or at least give it free or discounted to DVC memebers.

Unless you are going to be downloading files, I think dialup is fine. I used it last month at BWV, it wasn't bad. I already have AOL, so I found a local #.

That's true, probably fine for just checking email or the occassional weather report.

If you have broadband service at home, check with your provider to see if they provide any roaming dial-up access as part of their plan. I have SBC DSL, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could access their dial-up network nationwide at no additional cost.

And don't forget they have the daily forecast on Resort TV. ;)

Had SBC DSL too, but wasn't available when we moved. Had to get Comcast cable which doesn't have a dial-up option. I will probably sign up for one of those "free" dial ups that limit you to a few hours a month.

When we were at BCV last summer, we connected using broadband. All we needed was a cable. We didn't have the right cable with us and called housekeeping and they brought one to us right away. There was a little cardboard display thing on the table telling us we could use their broadband for no charge.

I know DH used HSIA at BWV. It cost $9.95per 24hours. He just plugged into the HSIA port with the cable he brought from home and was all set. He didn't try the WIFI available at the pool maybe next trip.
