Hi Guys - this one might be for the more techy among you (or maybe not! :) )

I'm thinking of taking my laptop with me to Florida so that I can get on-line for info/travel money/flights/etc (NOT work!!) but I wanted to check if anyone knows if my wireless card - built in - will work out there

AND

if anyone knows or a good wireless access point I can tap into to get online. It won't be everyday - just to check the bank back home etc. Am staying at junc of the 192 and 27

How has your expereinces been with this?

Thanks

:hippie:

Are you staying in a villa or hotel?

Quite a few villas now offer wireless broadband access (the house we are staying in does). Many hotels also have wireless or wired access.

Boo

A lot of hotels have free wireless access in the lobby now, and even free in rooms, we like to stay at Fairfield or Courtyard both in Marriott group free wireless throughout.
If it just for 10-15 mins you could call in the Lobby of Best Western Lakeside on 192 out towards 27, they have no idea who is staying and who is not.
Only problem I have with access is onsite, thats why we stay offsite.
Check where you are staying like I say most places are offering free access now.

Thanks guys - I'm actually in a villa through virgin. Found the website for the company that is leasing the villa but it doesn't say anything about wireless.

Will e-mail them anyway on a general query

Any more would be cool

I have a BT hot spot account so can log on at Starbucks or McDonalds and lots of other places for approx 6p per minute in the US. There is free access at Panera bread at the mall of Mallenia:)

I use a little piece of free software from a company called Boingo, which gives you a list of access pints within range and also a list of access points avaialable per city/per area world wide.

you can download it from http://www.boingo.com/

Every Panera Bread has free WIFI - locations at Florida Mall, Millenia Mall, Sand Lake Road and elsewhere.

Great location, good coffee, nice atmosphere, our daily visit during our recent stay:thumbsup2
