Wireless Hot Spots ?

Does anyone know of any wireless hot spots on any of the Disney property's? We are going down this weekend and were wondering if there was anyplace we can pick up free internet service. Just burn's me that we will have to pay for internet in this day and age! Everyone else has been offering free internet to their customers for well over a yr. It would also be nice if they actually told us when "Spring" might happen to be for the free internet, for anyone else actually travelling in spring.

The only nearby free WiFi I know of is the Panera next to the Premium Outlets. You might get lucky and find a free WiFi connection on someone else's network from your room (I did at the BWV in January). If you are at the BW, Big River Grill has WiFi and you could sit on the BW and use it for free.

Where are you staying? When we stayed at OKW in January we got free internet. Each day we had to accept the charge when we logged in, but at the end of the week we were not charged anything for internet access.

There were reports of some guests getting free internet in January because of the mix-up about when the free internet was supposed to begin. There have been no recent posts of which I am aware from DVC members getting free internet. I am hoping that the "Spring" start mentioned on the member site will be in time for our March 8 - 15 trip, but I am not holding my breath.

We were at OKW this week and there was still a $9.95 per day charge for the broadband connection.

According to the member's website, the service for DVC members (staying at DVC resorts0 is supposed to be free beginning in Spring 2008.

Based on that desccription from the member's website, I'd expect it sometime before June 21, 2008 - when summer begins.

This sounds like a really good option. We are leaving tomorrow and are thinking about trying going to Big River Grille.

AKV said last weekend that the free internet for members would begin "in the spring."

too bad WDW doesn't set up some hot spots throughout the parks even if there was a daily charge associated

I just left OKW and was charged every day for internet. When I asked on check out about it, John the operations manger (he told me who he was, i really don't know why) told me that they do not know when it will start and he said that "No one" has gotten free internet. I explained to him that I read on the DIS doards that some had received it and he said that DIS was not an officiaL Disney site and that you couldn't believe what was put on there.

Umm, ok...So I was charged over $100 for internet during our stay but got free internet at Courtyard Marriott on our way down to Disney. I find this outrageous that they bill us $9.95 per day when all the motels up and down I-95 and other highways offer it free.

Yup...I'm sure they are not in a big rush to give up that revenue. I get free wifi at the Super 8!

Well there is a business opportunity there. Rent out the wifi cards for half of what Disney is charging.

I personally tether my phone for access to the internet. Though my DH gets upset. Vacations are a time to unplug. Use that excuse while you still can.
