Our bankcard division is supposedly working on this project. What it is is a credit card that you can use like a normal credit card, but you can hook up a direct deposit to it like a checking account.
This is supposed to help business that have incentive programs. Instead of giving a check, they give this credit card that you can withdraw your money from. Eliminates paper checks and long processing time. Instead of issuing checks all the time, they just give one card to the employee, and each payday, it gets refilled.
That's the gist of what is being developed here.
