Winter weekends--best/worst?

I'm thinking about doing another mommy-only weekend to DLR. I took a long weekend in May, and had such a great time.

I've never been to DLR during the Winter holiday season, so that's when I'm looking to go this time. I know there's a super thread about winter holiday season, and I will definitely check it out...

At the moment, though, I'm trying to figure out the best time to go. I'm thinking I will take 2 days off work, flying out Wednesday after work, being in the park Thurs, Fri, Sat, and coming home early Sunday. I'm thinking early December--after the Thanksgiving rush, and before the Christmas rush.

Any thoughts on if any week would be any better than any other week? I'd love to have low-ish crowds, and I'm from Oregon--in other words, rain helps me grow, and I'm used to splashing through puddles, so the threat of rain doesn't deter me!

The week after Thanksgiving would be a great week to go. That is when the crowds will be the lowest. As far as rain, you might be disappointed, it is a hit and miss. There is probably a good chance there will not be rain.

The weekend after thanksgiving weekend is likely to be candlelight weekend. I would probably go the following week.
