Winter Olympics No Video Thread

Yes since 1980s miracle USA hasn’t won a gold in hockey! Woo hoo!

My son has a hockey game this morning at same time, also went to OT but we lost, booo. Watched the US/Canada in OT on the car ride home.

So sorry for your DS, especially going into OT. Hopefully he's happy (and inspired) about Team USA, tho. :goodvibes

🇺🇸 and they say no one in America watches ice hockey…

It’s likely that there were more overall viewers in the US than in Canada, although that’s from a much larger population. It’s a bit harder to figure out because of all the different live sources (over the air, cable, streaming via cable companies, network apps, Peacock) and the numbers from each source.

CBC made it available for free, but it was blocked outside of Canada because of rights management. I was a bit curious although I watched over an antenna.

I bet more Canadians watched the game this morning than watched the Superbowl.

I think CBC/SportsNet/GEM coverage was very good, as always. We still have cable, so I had access to the main NBC feed as well, but although I flicked it on a couple of times, I didn't watch much on it.

The main CBC channel ran a 24/7 Olympic feed with two exceptions - hour-long news broadcasts a couple of times a day and the daily episodes of Coronation Street. They've learned in the past the Canadian Coronation Street fans will not be denied!

Can’t they just go ONE DAY without Corrie?

Imagine if a hockey game ran into 10 OTs…
