What kinds of flowers have you used/seen for a winter wedding? (Dec or Jan)

My absolute favorite kind of flowers are daffodils, but I'm not sure if daffodils would look ok in a bridal bouquet, and may even be hard to find in the winter.

I love most flowers though & I'll be ok without them if I can find something pretty.

What are some great Winter bridal bouquet ideas? & to go along with that-corsages & bouts. No holly or christmas flowers though (it'll be a half jewish wedding!) Please include pics if you have them!

:flower3:

Roses are always a classic and come in virtually any color ! Carnations would work too.

My wedding is in December and I researched winter flowers..so here is what I am using:

Roses (cream)
Hydrangea (blue)
Baby's Breath
Queen Anns Lace
Poinsettias (white) (we're using these for aisle decor & centerpieces along with bowls of silver pinecones)

Here is a pic of the flowers that will be in my bouquet...

I LOVE your bouquet!!!! I am doing a Dec VR and I was looking for something almost exactly like that. The only difference is I was going to do all red with those cute little white flowers that look like stars (I can't remember what they are called right now  )

Well... I'm not sure if anything in Florida really counts as "winter" but here's mine from January of last year. Roses with delphiniums.

Some things that look lovely in the winter....Paperwhite Narcissus (smells fabu!), amaryllis, snowberry- comes in pink or white - is a beautiful, arching type of filler flower. Hyacinth should be available in January and has wonderful fragrance. Also, things like roses, stephanotis, orchids and lilies are available year round. Daffodils might possibly be available. I'm in Washington and we usually start seeing them in January, but we grow them up here, I think Florida might be a little warm for them? Also, tulips should be available. A lot of things are grown year round now, so don't always listen to the "use what's in season, it's less expensive" chant. What that REALLY means is yes, if you want to use lilac in the middle of September it will cost more than if you use it in May, but even in May it's is still going to cost you 3 or 4 times what a rose would. So in season flowers are not necessarily the cheapest flowers, they're just cheaper than they are when they're out of season and need to be imported from whatever part of the world they ARE in season in! Whew, sorry to be so long-winded. Good luck with your planning!

If you don't mind me asking...about how much was your alter arrangement? It's beautiful! Your bouquet is beautiful too!
