***Winter Disney Pin*** sent/received....COMPLETED!!

Cassidy's pins arrived yesterday. She openened them in the car on the way to dance. I haven't seen them yet but I believe she said it was a Tinkerbell, Jiminey Cricket and a Hidden Mickey. I will check with her later for more details and I will also post who they were from. She opened them so fast and I was driving and didn't get to see them. I just wanted to let everyone know they arrived. Will post more later.:santa:

That would be from my DS, I know it was these two meant to be keepers, but I honestly can't remember which trader we picked. :rotfl: Pretty darn sad when you have so many pins you don't miss the ones gone.

Pin 1386: WDW - I've Got Environmentality (Jiminy Cricket)

Pin 549: DS - Countdown to the Millennium Series #81 (Tinker Bell)

A big thank you to EpcotMatt for two VERY cute pins - a Dumbo one, and a Blizzard Beach one[DH's fav spot at WDW] thanks again!

The pin that I ordered just arrived so I'll go to the post office later to post my last package. Again sorry for it being late.

Edit: It has been posted

I mailed mine out on Friday. I also mailed one of my mom's exchanges on Friday. She was waiting for a pin to come in that she ordered so hopefully she mailed her 2nd exchange out on Saturday on else she will mail it today.

I received my pins on Friday, two Chip and Dale pins. I think they are both Cast Member pins. I don't know who they are from...return address said A. Shubin in Phoenix, AZ, but I don't know the DIS name. So thanks to whoever they are from.

Oh you lucky dog. I've been trying to acquire that popcorn pin for some time now. I'm looking for the original 2005 backstamp version. Congrats.

Were the pins supposed to be Official Disney pins? My mom received 2 "Pro Pins" and she was really dissapointed. They look really cheap and she's not sure that she will be able to trade them.

Just returned from the World on Saturday. Just now felt like getting online to check the postings. Both DH and I got sinus infections and strep mid-trip. Spent a lot of time in bed in our room. :sad2: At least our first 3 and 1/2 days were good days! Anyway, I got the pins for my pin pals and I was going to mail them today but I didn't feel like going to work yet today so I should be able to mail them tomorrow. I'm just sorry I'm late getting them mailed.

Donna - Feel better!

Today I sent both my exchanges as I finally got the pin I was waiting on. I do hope they are speedy in arriving at their destinations!

I also received from Luv2Roam and boy was I spoilt:

pin43540
(on a cute red Disney stocking instead of a backing card!

pin46009
(a stitch pin, with Lilo (my favs!) that I didn't already have :))

Barb sent me the following pins. I can't describe how much I love them both. Figment holds a special place in my heart as I always loved that ride right from my first visit to WDW when I was 7 and having worked at Epcot whilst on the WDWIP I'm a sucker for anything Epcot themed (its still my fav park too!)

Cheers Barb, you made my day!

Looks like the post I did earlier got eaten

Anyway....there are still quite a few pins to get mailed. Some people still waiting for orders, others sick. Please mail ASAP....and post here too.

And...MotoXPrincess99...your exchange was from Luvs2Trl2 :)

Sorry about the "bad" pins. I guess I need to be more specific in what people should send. This is the second person that was not happy because they got nontradeable pins. Next go around in March it will be specifically stated that ALL pins need to be tradeable unless it is the third "extra" one.
Sorry for the disappointments for some of you :(

Donna.....feel better. Sorry that had to happen, especailly on your trip. Feel better soon!!

Melissa.....your other exchange has not arrived yet?? :( It was mailed 12-6. I hope it isn't lost.

Hi Nancy

Sorry no I have only received the one so far. Some strange stuff going on with the postal service it seems... I sold something on ebay and it was sent to the States on the 3rd of December and it hasn't got there yet :(

I'll keep an eye out,
Gaspodé

So sorry I have not kept up with posting guys. I got sick after a weekend long photo shoot last weekend and am still not totally better and now my little Landon is acting like he is not feeling well. :( Not fun!

I did finally get my pins out today. DH dropped them off at the PO on his way to work so hopefully they will make it to their new homes fast and safe and my pals will enjoy them. :goodvibes

I got another of our packages and it was from epcotmatt with these 2 pins.

Thank you Matt!

That is too bad about the Propins. It seems new collectors/traders and the very seasoned ones looking for a cheap trade have many of those. I even have some in my personal collection. Most every pin collector does as long as it is a theme you collect.
But those pins are what they are, cheap, and you get what you pay for.
The good side is they are tradeable in the WDW parks (unless things change).
The plus side to Propins is to my understanding those have not been manufactured for years now. Those pins were made in Germany, and the company did not renew their Disney contract probably 3 or more years ago. So what is out there. is it. At one time a set of 9 cost approx $19 U.S. dollars.
The really cheap ones are the Sedesma S.A. from Spain. They are generally smaller than a usual pin. (Even more so than Propins.) And appear to be painted and made of a thin, cheap black metal.
Even those are tradeable at this time. There is always rumors they will not be. And occasionally I have read of CMs refusing them in trades.

The lanyard pins are cast lanyard pins, as they can only be originally received from a CM in a trade. Of course there is always the secondary market and trading.
I just did not want those confused with a CM pin, which are different. Only CMs can purchase those, or they are awarded to a CM, etc. An example is the Minnie hat box pin I sent Matt. That is a CM pin.

Ok, I'm new to pin collecting, I've only purchased my pins at WDW, never heard of propins, how can you tell you have a propin? Thanks.

An example of a Propin is:
http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=4526&sid=8480.1197939098.v2
This is a pin I have, and happy to have it. :thumbsup2
But this is a smalllll pin. (3/4")
Normally they are not even that small. But Propins are generally smaller than a pin you buy at the park. They are often approx the same size as maybe a cast lanyard pin.
The coating will also be a clear epoxy like coating. Which can be a plus because that coating is very durable. Howver many yellow with age, over a long period of time, as in several years.
Many (if not all :confused3 ) Propins are part of a set. I don't know if all sets had 9 pins. But the sets I saw did.
The plus side to Propins is they often had the charcters not often seen. That is one thing that made them fairly popular. That and the price. The artwork was generally different poses than Disney park pins too.
Here is a link to a set of Propins.
http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=9377&sid=8480.1197939098.v2
They were pretty cheap, and often people broke them up and had 9 traders.
Unless it is a character or pin you like, I would stay away from Propins and the Spain pins in general.

Actually even another Propin I have that I would probably never consider trading is:
Pin 4979: ProPin - The Lion King Set (Rafiki in Yoga Position)
http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=4979&sid=8480.1197939098.v2
So they really had some nice pins. But again if it was a theme you cared for.

I hope that all my exchangees have received AND liked their pins!:goodvibes

They have all been received :) And hopefully liked.

As for the propins....thanks for the lesson Luv2Roam ::yes::

The sender of those was told they were tradeable, so can't really blame her. And we really only said they need to be in good shape. I will add better parameters for the spring trade.

Sorry to those that are disappointed with what you received. Hopefully we won't have that happen again.
