Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

Last year, when they raised prices, they just increased the incentive amounts for the first period following the increase. But, as I recall,
if you looked at the net price per point, it was still a slightly higher cost than the last incentive period.

With few exceptions, when purchasing at an actively selling resort, there will never be a cheaper time to buy direct points than the current incentive period.

That said, it does feel psychologically satisfying to straddle one incentive period to another and helps you feel like you did the get the best deal available to you at the time.

Yeah, I've basically resigned to the fact that if we purchase direct in the future, it will always cost more than it does currently. But I figured that in the time I'm waiting to purchase, I'm not paying extra dues so it sort of evens out a bit.

I'm fairly certain a good amount of the people who use their points on cruises are people who bought in early like in the 90s and got such good value out of their points they don't care about squeezing as much value as possible out of them.
I don't think this is limited to long-time owners. It probably describes most owners.

Those of us here on the DIS are not representative of the typical owner.

I would honestly think about it when they offer deals on it sometimes, but the inability to cancel is a deal-breaker for me.

It's a double edged sword because you're also losing years on the deed. When PVB went back on sale I was fine waiting until my UY. Now that it's passed PVB IT is in my rear view mirror :rotfl:

988 listings. Inventory hasn't increased since dues release like I predicted. But the actual bill just finally went out. So Im not going to call myself wrong just yet.

I've been watching a lot of listings go up and sell quickly. I think that $500 just because fee that has been added is pushing people who are kinda thinking about adding on to do it quickly, especially with the smaller contracts.

I have seen many sell so quick and at great presumed selling prices too.

Exactly! I have the same observation! Many old 50-point ones are suddenly sold. Some disappear after being listed for 1 day or 2. So the total listing did not increase
