I need to buy winter coats, snowpants, boots, hats and gloves for my 4 yr old girl and my 8 yr old boy. Are there any good deals anywhere yet?

I like Children's Place but the best discount I can find right now is 20% off. Knowing the discounts will be MUCH greater after Thanksgiving I can't bring myself to buy it now.

Any good deals now?

Lands End has "up to 50% off" outerwear right now.
How about Old Navy?

I've always done great with Kohls. Always on sale plus coupons and lots of time they have the Kohls Cash going on.

I was going to mention Lands End too. It depends what you want to spend though because even with the 20 or 30 off that they are advertising on their coats some of them are still quite expensive. Excellent products, but probably not necessary to spend that much. My sons winter stuff still fits him from last year so I am going to watch all season until they come down quite a bit and snag the one I want for next year.

I was just at children's place yesterday. There coats were 30% off and there is a 15% off coupon out that you can use too.

Another option is Craigslist. Since the items only get used for one season, you can usually find some in really good shape for a great price.

If you have nice consignment shops near you, check them! We have one consignment place that only takes the very nicest stuff (well cared for is what I mean...not "designer"). While we normally just donate DS's old clothes to Goodwill, we had a coat that was used so infrequently and was in such good condition that we sold it to them instead. So now there's a really nice size 6 coat and jacket system at that shop.

And hey, don't forget to check Goodwill/Value Village/etc! Lots of good stuff there, too.

I used to get a full year of wear from DS's clothes, but now he's growing more often, and I have a REALLY hard time spending a ton on new things like heavy coats until after i've checked the consignment/value stores, first.

Sears.com has all winter coats for 60% off and today code ONEDAY for $10 off a $40 clothing purchase on their site.
Also if you are a shop your way rewards member and live in an area affected by Sandy you may find $10 or $20 (10,000-20,000) points in your account good until 11/8. I literally just ordered my ds a coat, reg. price $110 for $22.00 using the code and my points.

Now, that sounds like a good deal!

I forgot to mention I really prefer to shop online. I don't think I'll have time to shop for it tonight though.
Also I'm shopping for oldest boy and oldest girl. Each coat, etc. will get used at least twice.

yes, check Sears out! My daughter needed a red pea coat as part of a costume for a play she is in at high school. I couldn't find one at a resale store, but scored one for $29 at Sears!

We buy most of our outerwear other than boots from Lands End. They always seem to have a deal (I shop after Christmas and on clearance sales, but there's always some kind of coupon). There are cheaper outerwear places, but all the stuff we've gotten from Lands End has been high quality, and quality gear is very important here.
