Winnie the Pooh Ride - Wheelchair Accessible

Some of the honeypots are indeed wheelchair accessible (I don't think it's every 5th or 6th though). My DD has ridden a number of times in her wheelchair. The side of the car folds down to make a ramp and the wheelchair can roll right in.
If you have more questions about wheelchair accessibility or touring with a wheelchair, follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board.

I'm going to copy this post over to our disABILITIES board. This is good info to have.

I believe it is. If I'm recalling correctly, there are hunnypots that have no seats in them to allow wheelchairs to board.

DiznEeyore is correct, about every 5th or 6th Hunny Pot is for wheelchairs. Have Fun!!!

Sorry for any inadvertent misinformation. Maybe it only seems like every 5th or 6th when we are waiting in line.

Does anyone know if this attraction is wheelchair accessible? I don't think it is, but I'll admit that I don't always look to see if it is.

thanks much!

Yes this ride you can roll right into a hunny pot and you are on your way. The only unfortunte thing is there is no seperate handicap entrance like on Dumbo. They should make one where the fast past entrance is located so you do not have to wait in line. At least this is how it was when we were there in Oct. 2001.

Yes there are accessible Hunny Pots.
As to having a handicapped entrance. This is a mainstream line which is wheelchair accessible. If you don't want to wait get a fastpass and use the fastpass line. Or if there are some special issues that make waiting in a mainstream line impossible get a GAC.
Shawn why should those in wheelchairs not have to wait in line?

Talking Hands I think if there is a wheelchair car and you are a user that has to use this car because you are unable to transfer then you shouldn't have to wait in the line. It never fails just as we get close to the front of the line the wheelchair car goes by. My oldest DD rides in that honey pot and I pick her little sister up out of her wheelchair and carry her until she gets to heavy then they will have to take turns riding and waiting.

To the question about why people in wheelchairs should not wait in line? Some children and adults not only have the handicapp of not being able to walk, but also other medical problems that the naked eye can not see. Some of these may be triggered due to the heat, the noise, conjestion in line, etc... Just like I believe anyone who travels with a child with other disabilities, but is able to walk they should not have to wait either. There are many children in my son's special needs class who look like your typical child, but something will trigger a reaction in them where they can not control themselves in the way they act and standing in line for a ride they would never make it.

Also Disney makes traveling with a special needs person a wonderful exprience and they go out of their way to make it easier for those with special needs and those who care for the person with special needs easier time where they all can enjoy there vacation a lot more. And one of these things they do is help those with special needs by not having to wait in long lines. Disney is the only place I can take my severally handicapped son who is in a wheelchair, because they help us by make things accessiable and reconizing those with special needs need and deserve special treatment. Life outside of a special needs person environment is not easy. At time it is down right physically hard on that person or the person caring for the special needs person and Disney is helping them out and providing them some extra help, so they can enjoy there vacation by offering entrances where they do not have to wait. Just like they offer parents the opportunity to baby swap, so they do not have to stand in line twice, so each can ride.

This is just my opinion. It makes our vacation a little more special to be able to get the extra services from Disney. It makes an outing for my son less stressful and more enjoyable.

That is what the GAC is for. You need to get that as well if you have other medical issues.
A person just in a wheelchair doesn't need to have that extra access. That was what encouraged the abuse of wheelchair rentals and made such nasty attitudes you see in others about those of us who use a wheelchair. While people don't have these attitudes towards ildren with disabilities they often do about adults. I've even been bawled out by a guest as to my right to even visit Disney because he pays for me to live. (Assumed I am on disability which I am not. I have a job. Actually several and pay for myself)
I am in a wheelchair and have other medical issues so I do have a GAC that specifies I may go through the fastpass line as well as remain in my personal power wheelchair rather than transfer to a manual chair (exception is Pirates), it also alerts castmembers that I have a hearing loss and need reflective captioning.
