Wining before you get there??

We received a call last night for WDW saying we got free resort upgrade because of YOAMD...from All Star Sports to the Yacht Club. It seems that this isn't typical of a "dream", they usually happen once you are on property.



What do you think?

This is great, though! (You are right - maybe they were overbooked and decided to use the "dream" angle. Or, it could just be a very lucky, very legitimate win on your part!)

I just read another post on the DIS where another woman received the same call yesterday. It's not common, but I believe it happens on occasion when resorts are overbooked.

Either way, congrats, and enjoy!!

Just curious, when are you going? We are scheduled to check into ASSports on 9/24...although since I paid a AAA rate I doubt I'd get the upgrade even if they were over-booked - wouldn't they give the upgrade to someone who paid rack rate first?

We leave tomorrow!! We booked with the "free dining" promotion earlier this summer. We have a 4 day "Disney do or die" vacation as we come home on Wednesday (5 days, 4 nights and really only 3.5 days at the parks). The value resort was the only way we could afford to go. This just makes it that much better - now we'll actually have room to breath in our room!!

My friend just called me and her Mom just got a call .. they were staying at Sports and they are YOMD winners disney called and said and they have been upgraded to Contemporary.. the Mom (winner) told the Disney rep that her daughter and family have adjoining room and Disney said they would move them too! WOW!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting! I am so happy for them!

Congrats!!! That's a fantastic upgrade!! We got an amail during the first year of YOAMD and were upgraded from the Pop to a villa at OKW for Easter week. The CM that I called said that it was a YOAMD prize, too.
