Winging it? Anyone NOT purchasing LLMP?

I am currently here and using a mix of days with and without. I regret not buying it for my second Magic Kingdom day because of how things are working out with Tiana. First MK I think I used 8 LLs.

We hardly ever purchased Genie+ before and will not purchase whatever this new version is called.
When you go early entry and have a good plan, you can do everything you want to do especially in September.
The only time we purchased g+ was the two times we did 4 parks in one day. It was necessary for those shenanigans. But one park each day, not giving Disney more money for what I can do myself.
You will be fine. Enjoy.

We purchased it for all the parks. It was about $700.00. I don't think we really needed to buy it every park visit but I had never used Genie, so I wanted to see how we did with this. I anticipate next year we will not spend as much on it.

We had 11 dining reservations, but I cancelled 4 not necessarily to offset the cost but to make sure we did not block availability on selections. It will still help balance out what we spend somewhat.

We likely will not purchase it this upcoming trip. The trip is a lot more laid back then normal. I am doing 3 days at Epcot (Food and Wine) and MNSSHP. My friend is taking one day to do DHS and is still thinking about if she will get it or not.

For Epcot, I just don't see a reason. We have no interest in Remy (super bad motion sickness when I rode last) or Mission Space. We will be rope dropping Frozen (staying at PoP so coming in from the Skyliner), then up to Soarin' and then we will hit the smaller rides as we want. We will also be doing shorter ride lines our first day there and I will have another full day for them.

We WILL be getting an ILL for Guardians though.

We may only book for MK (primarily to get TAB) and HS. We have 9-days with hopping so we’re in no big rush. We’d only purchase for MK and HS likely only once. Otherwise we’re fine with standby. The wait times haven’t looked too bad for this month.

We never bought/used Genie+, and currently dont' plan to buy LLMP for our October trip. We either rope drop, or close out parks, or a combo of both, and avoid midday.
However, I might consider it for one day, depending on the type of tickets we get. If we only get 2 or 3 days, I might, especially for HS.
I have bought ILLs twice for GotG, just for the kids to get an extra ride, and once for FoP just for kids, but they were cheap. No plans to buy RotR, or Tron. We'll either get the VQ for Tron, or skip. GotG, is a must-do favorite, but knock on wood, we've never not gotten a GotG VQ. Missed Tron once.

Since we rented points to stay deluxe we may even drop some of the days I planned to book LLMP. For our 9 day trip I planned on getting it 4-5 days. Now I may drop it to 3.

When we had FP+ I always booked our selections in our PM park. I don’t think they were ever needed in the morning. Especially if you took advantage of EE. But it pains me to book LLMP in my evening park when I’m paying so much for it since I most likely can’t pull anymore. It was great when it was free!

Me. I am totally winging our trip except for a couple of ADRs. It's only my husband and I going for our 35th anniversary and I don't want to be restricted or rushed to get to something I booked. I'd rather use that extra money to have an extra drink or snack at F&W. I'd rather enjoy the sights and stay off my phone. I don't want to have to be wondering what time it is and where we'd have to be. If I miss riding something or seeing something then oh well there's always next time!

I think with the new tiered system this program offers less value. Plus Epcot and AK really don’t need it especially if staying on property.

I would have preferred Genie+ stick around over the new tiered system and if they thought was necessary just raise the price.

As an AP member I find the paid system disappointing. AP holders really did lose a lot with that additional cost. But I don’t see that going away anytime soon.

I think ideally they’d remove some of the rides and experiences from Genie and also have some more shows and rides that eat people to give folks things to do.

Loved FPs but never got Genie+. But we are also AP, DVC, and visit 4-5 times a year; so we don’t feel the need to hit the parks from RD to close and ride everything. I can understand why people who don’t visit as much would purchase Genie+/LL. We do attend MNSSHP & MVMCP every year, which gives us opportunities to get on a lot of rides. EE are AMAZING and we will buy an occasional AHs too.

I may purchase occasional days and/or individual LLs bc I do go to some parks solo, and it would be nice to pre-select rides, but we’ll see.

Is it confirmed that this actually happens? Do ADRs automatically block you from making LLSP and LLMP during the same time period?
What happens if one person is the lead on the ADRs, does not fill in who the other "guests" are, and then someone else in the group makes the LLSP/LLMPs?

We are winging it. We did well without it in July. EE helped us out a lot. We would rather get up a little earlier vs paying an extra $100+ for our family to ride rides that we've done dozens of times. If this is a one time trip or you only come once every 5-10 years then I could see the appeal.

I really don’t know but it seemed to.

I kept a character breakfast at HS and when I did my request for that day the earliest time offered was at 10:30. That booking was made on August 4 and we are going to HS on August 18th. I never tried to modify because that time worked for that day for us.

I hope someone can give a definitive answer about whether or not ADRs block LLMP/SP. I make a lot of ADRs and am capable of deciding whether or not I can reasonably make it to a LL time slot. In certain cases I might hold off on some ADRs if they were going to keep me from booking attractions.

It is a work in progress for all of us

You're right and that's a good reminder. I think I just expected all of the people who have used it over the past two weeks to figure it all out and come back to report the nitty gritty details. I suppose I wasn't realistic. It's going to take a while longer to gather all of the LLSP/MP intel :)

My last visit was the last month one could pre-purchase Genie+, and we did all days ($15 a day then). I was planning to get for 3/4 days next week, but decided that 2/4 was enough. I am not confident in being able to book more Tier 2s. I was also overwhelmed trying to assemble the right mix of times.

Great post - thanks for all the information. To be honest I have not kept up with Disney nonsense. We only used genie plus 1 or 2 times and it was OK but I did a lot of studying beforehand, so that made it successful. The times we didn’t use it was for Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Typically, we only do two Park days during our weeklong visit
Now we are going the first week in September I only found out about the change in July And no time to really look into it yet. We have non-expiring park hoppers and hoping to do early entry HS, take a break for a few hours in the middle of the day and then do Epcot around 4 pm. We have done Remy, Frozen, paid for guardians & were lucky to get the 6 PM virtual queue on last trip. Just going with the flow this time. Not happy paying to pick rides 7 days out and then scramble to adjust them to fit into our day. If it’s really hot or you just don’t feel like going to a park that day, there’s no refunds —- awful money grab and from reading the last few days it doesn’t seem like anybody’s talked about the “no refunds” / can’t change your mind or park day (hopefully that’s not 100% true ). None of us are enthused about being locked into going a particular day all because you paid 100+ bucks plus for rides. It’s a pass for us this time around, so yes we are winging it!
