Concierge has added a perk where we can book wine, beer and/or martini tasting beforehand. I've done the mixology classes in the past but never wine, beer or martini. Any feedback on these?

I've had a lot of fun at both wine and martini tastings. We've done several different wine ones, old world, new world, champagne. The martini tastings were great although on one was an actual gin martini, the rest were fruity vodkas and I think a chocolate. We find the beer selection on the ships to be dreadful so we haven't done a beer tasting, tons of breweries around our house. We're beer snobs :)

Just got off the Dream last week and my husband and I did both the wine and martini tastings. The martini tasting was while we were docked in Nassau so we had a great view of Atlantis and the bay. It was an absolute blast! We had a fun crowd and the bartenders were great (Bonny was our head bartender for the event).

We followed up with a wine tasting the second day and the sommelier (I forget her name, I had wine tasting and mixology back-to-back lol) was very knowledgeable. The event was more subdued and fit the environment. It was an enjoyable event, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be the martini tasting.

We booked both through shoreside concierge ahead of our trip.

Does anyone know how far in advance the schedule is available? We have always waited until boarding and then booked in the concierge lounge when we were going over our itinerary with our host. We are about a month out from our sailing, and I've sent an email just now to concierge to see if the schedule is available for our sailing, but I anticipate it will be a few hours until they respond. I am so excited that this is now available as a concierge perk!

They had the schedule for my sailing in July. Give them a call so you don't have to wait to hear back! I'm sailing the 4 night on the Dream.

Liquor and chocolate is a fun one if you can do that. But on the Dream in February it was more like the wine and chocolate tasting because our host was the sommelier in Palo, so it was more wine based. Very GOOD wine based, but wine based.

Love love love martini tasting! It's my favorite of the tastings I've done, many multiple times: mixology, martini, beer, cognac, whiskey, & chocolate. Still want to do tequila, mojitos, & champagne.

Mystery solved - and those of us on the Fantasy are out of luck for now. They are testing it on the Dream only - so those of us on the other ships will just book as normal when we board. Here is Shoreside Concierge's response:

Thank you for your email. We are happy to assist you with your planning.

We are offering prebooking for the wine, beer and Martini tastings on board the Disney Dream to test the process of prebooking. We hope that this will become available for all ships in the future. Currently for the Disney Fantasy, your Onboard Concierge team will continue to book those experiences for you once you are onboard the ship.

If we can assist you with any other questions or planning please let us know.

Have a magical day!

We book private ones through groups we have formed on Facebook and here... One of the ladies who has done this a lot took a list of who wanted what tasting and just on our Panama Canal Cruise in 2 weeks and 5 days - We have Mixology, Open Bar for an hour, Palo Brunch, Chocolate/Liquor tasting, Whiskey, Mojito, wine and Martini classes/tastings all booked. We have the date/times and groups for all ahead of time. Of course they will offer them on board but if you book them ahead you can plan better. This was in our navigator the first day of our cruise almost every time...
