I haven't seen anything about this lately so am wondering if anyone has done the wine tasting around the world lately? I believe you buy a card/Passport and then go to several countries and try their wines.

Is this even still available to do?

Also does anyone know if they do a beer tour? :rolleyes1

Yes there is one, its called the "Wine Walk" and we did it last February.

For $20 you get to sample 6-2 oz wines (2 per location) at Germany, Italy and France. Not a bad deal to try 6 different wines. But one downside to that was they determine which wines you try, so you don't get a choice. We weren't too impressed with the selections but everyone's different.

Just go to the wine bar at any one of the countries listed above and ask about the "Wine Walk". They'll give you a passport and you get a stamp for each sample you try.

It was still fun, an experience and we're glad we did it at least once. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info disneyfreak! Even though they choose the wines we'll try it really is a good way to try new wines without going broke. I hope we like some of their choices...but if we don't, no big money spent to try them.

I should have mentioned too that DH and I 'shared' the samples....since we didn't want to pay $40 for both us. It was enough to 'share' so it was a good deal. At least we know what we like (and don't like) there now. ;)

do you get a glass with that that you can keep like most wine festival do or do they just give it to you in a plastic cup???

So it is or isn't offered all the time? Sounds good!

I think its offered all the time. We went in February and just asked at the first pavilion we went to (Italy I think).

No, it was just a small plastic glass that you threw away. We did a wine tasting once a few years back at Germany and it included souvenir 'shot glasses', so I guess its best to ask. Might be worth the extra money to try wines you actually WANT to try and get souvenir glasses to boot.

thank for the info, this could be a fun thing to try as the kids run around with "Kim Possible"

1) Sometimes "free" is too expensive.
2) Let alone $20 for 12 ounces, of average wine.

3) We are "foodies" and enjoy wines, so we typically do not go in for cheap wine tastings.
4) So, I cannot truly vouch for the quality of the wine.
5) But, with disneyfreak's evaluation, I could say it is accurate.
6) Wine, plus labor & handling, should result in more than $20 for 12 ounces.[/I]

Beer tour is only during F&W (unless they've introduced something totally new) and they just started that in 2009. Much like the wine card, you got a 'passport' and tried 4 out of 8 beers. Fun, and I tried several beers that I never would have dreamed of trying.
