I searched and could not really find an answer. Can we bring a six pack of wine in cans on board instead of the 2 bottles?
TIA

No. The policy says ‘two bottles’, not ‘two bottles or equivalent’. Some have gone through with boxes of wine, but they did because the screener did not enforce the policy the same way others do.

We took a 4 pack of wine coolers on our EBPC cruise out of San Diego.

A few questions on your 4 pack:
  • Were your wine coolers in bottles?
  • Were you with another adult 21 or older?
  • Was this all of the alcohol you took onboard?
If the answer to all 3 of these was yes, then your wine coolers were treated as bottles of wine that meet the 2 bottles not not to exceed 750 ml each for each adult 21 or older. Most likely, the security person saw wine in the name and figured you liked smaller than normal bottles.

I had no idea anyone still made wine coolers! Those were the IN thing when I was in college in the early 90s and I’ve not seen them since! Even in NYC bodegas which have all sorts of stuff.

No, wine has has to be in bottles, each not exceeding 750 ml each, with a limit of 2 for each adult 21 or older. I have seen people in different DCL ports multiple times trying to argue the a single magnum (1500 ml) was the same as two 750 ml bottles and that a 3-liter box of wine was the same as four 750 ml bottles of wine for the 2 adults in the party, but in all of these cases, their wine was confiscated and they were given a reciept to pick it up at debarkation. I have also seen the same thing happen with people trying to play the math game with bottles and cans larger than 12-ounces but less than 6, adding up to less than the 72 ounces that a 6-pack of 12-ounce beers. Those were also confiscated, as DCL does not play math games to get to a total volume allowed, especially since the policy blatantly states that for wine each bottle cannot exceed 750 ml, while the beer container cannot exceed 12-ounces.

Dug, that is why I can see a 20-something security screen see the word "wine" in wine cooler and think they were just small bottles of wine.

Thanks, I was thinking it would be easier for transportation purposes, but I don't want to break any rules.
