Does anyone know how we can get a few bottles of wine for our room? We are staying at BCV and will not have a rental car?

We purchased ours in the hotel gift shop when we stayed at POFQ. The white zinfandal was 10.00 a bottle.

All the hotel shops have a limited selection of wine by the bottle. I believe you can buy some from the different countries at Epcot in the individual gift shops. There may also be some available at Downtown Disney.

We are bringing our own favorite(s) along with us from home. Primarily because we are somewhat 'picky' about what we drink--just any old wine will not do.

I know the Hess station sells beer - do they sell wine also?

we also usually just pick up a bottle at the resort gift shop area.
Have a MAGICAL time!

The screen door store at BWV sells wine. Depending on how you are getting to your resort..cab? You could ask the driver to make a quick stop at Goodings grocery store...they have a great wine selection.

You must drive, no? I don't see how to transport wine on airplanes anymore due to the liquid restrictions....

I'm hoping Goodings will have a couple bottles that interest me.

We take the train, so transporting wine & other beverages is not a problem for us.

If flying, is it not possible to ship a package ahead to your resort? People seem to ship bottled water and such all the time. Or is shipping wine to the area of FL where WDW is located not allowed?

I'm not sure. I'll have to check into it because I know we'll want to buy some at F&W Fest this year & we'd have to ship it home.

For the May trip, we'll just stop at the store. We'll have a car.

How's the train ride? DH & I were just talking last night about how we wished the US had the same sort of rail systems that Europe has....

Question- Does the liquid restriction apply to checked luggage? I didn't think it did so I have several bottles packed in my suitcase already!

The liquid restrictions do not apply to checked baggage. Of course various dangerous/flammable always have been and still are restricted in any baggage. (Like gasoline)

To pack wine or other liquids safely, wrap them in a layer of bubble wrap, then in a Zip-Lock bag. The wrap a beach towel around it, then a kitchen trash bag and nestle it in the center of your suitcase for mazimum protection. It's not 100% safe, but you should be OK that way. If the bottle breaks the Zip Lock should contain most of the liquid, the beach towel will absorb the rest, and the kitchen bag will catch anything that runs off.

The Garden Grocer always has wine/beer avaialble. You have to email them for the prices. We used them last year and they had a $10 delivery fee but with our groceries, beer and water, it was definitely worth it. Think $1-$2 per beer instead of $5 at the pool bar!
There are many threads about GG if you are interested.

We just flew back from Oregon with 3 bottles of wine packed, and they all arrived safely! We double garbage-bagged them and put them in the middle of my husband's clothes in HIS bag:rotfl: , b/c it would be less clothes to wash than if they busted in my bag!! (But at least it was a Riesling and not red...;) )

We just flew home with 4 bottles of wine in our suitcases from Texas. We had 2 in each bag. We wrapped them with bubble wrap, secured them in a ziploc bag, and then had them tightly wedge in the center of the suitcases surrounded by clothing. Both suitcases were opened and inspected, but our wines made it OK. I think as long as you read the airlines rules (which we did before leaving) and overpackage, you can fly with bottles in your suitcase. Besides, after you drink it, you have more room for purchases on the way home!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
