Wine & Dine Half Marathon Questions

Not sure if there is a bette forum for this, but figured I would try here first.

I am considering running in the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November.

Does Disney usually offer any specially priced room packages for those participating in these events? If so, does anyone have examples from the past couple years as to what these special rates might have been for various resorts?

For example, at the moment a three night stay at that time in a regular king room at Port Orleans Riverside looks to be right at $600 for my wife and I.

Are there usually any offers on theme park tickets or dining?

There is a link for marathon participants but the rates seemed to be no better (and potentially worse) than any concurrently running discount.

I don't recall seeing any ticket or dining specials during any of the RunDisney events.

One thing for the W&D is that there are a VERY limited amount of 'host resorts' to/from which transportation is available the race festivities. I don't recall if POR is definitively one of them (I think it might be, but I'm just not positive).

We stayed at S&D last year as it was much less expensive than most other options; we walked over to BWI for their race transportation (get there early...the line was wicked long) and then walked home after the post-party.

The Wine & Dine Half takes place during Veteran's Day weekend. It may get crowded depending on how many people take advantage of that.

We just got back from the Princess Half Marathon weekend. We were sent a link to a website in our confirmation email, once we registered, to purchase park tickets. They were quite a bit cheaper than the regular park tickets. A 3 day park hopper was around $175 and a 4 day park hopper was about $210. I really didn't pay attention to the room rates as we are DVC and were staying on points.
