Wine & Dine 1/2 marathon weekend 2021

I wonder what time I can expect to cross the starting line for the half marathon. I hope by 5:30 if the race starts at 5. I'm consistently a 2 hour 15 minute runner during half marathons, so I was hoping to run, shower, and make it to Hollywood Studios for park opening at 9.

A totally different event and under different circumstances, but for the DarkSide half in 2019 I had the same pace as you. Crossed the starting line at 5:36am so would think 5:30 is a good guesstimate.

If you can walk to the TTC, you can walk the rest of the way in the parking lot to the security check. Poly and GF have been fine to walk, but CR was a no go b/c the path from the sidewalk goes backstage at TTC. Shades has a walking path to Poly so you should be fine - but you still have to go from TTC down the parking lot to security, so it makes it longer.

I emailed runDisney support because there's a section on the event guide that says you'll be disqualified if you don't enter through the Epcot parking lot staging area. Their response: "With safety as our priority, please know participants are not permitted to walk from their Resort to the start line. Any participants who do so can be disqualified from the race. Everyone must access the start line by traveling through the Family Reunion Area."

Using the old corral system of eight corrals and mini-waves, a 5:00am start time, and based on a 60 min start/finish release schedule:

If you put an estimated 2:15 HM finish time on registration, then I would say the estimate is around 5:16am for the Corral D release (which is the old 2:15-2:30 HM corral). It could be sooner than this if they use "rate release" timing based on the actual number of participants instead of aiming for 60 min.

Still don't know exactly how the start schedule will change with the new "starting groups" system. So this all has an asterisk next to it.

That certainly seems like a misprint/holdover from a previous race guide... but I hope they respond!

And here I was, hoping to run, shower, grab a quick nap, and get over to EPCOT in time for the party 😀

I tried to scan it on my phone and it wouldn't link, but when I typed in the ticket number on my computer it linked up just fine.:confused3

That sort of worked. Now my ticket is showing up as just a card (with my magic bands) rather than as a ticket linked to the whole account. Is that how it's supposed to be?

POR is Riverside. POFQ is French Quarter. Sounds like this is only impacting POR. I'm staying at POFQ and we haven't heard anything about an upgrade. I'd love to move to BW or YBC!
Same…. It would kind of be a full circle moment to move from POFQ to a deluxe just without that sticker shock

The bolded text is what they emailed to me this morning.
If you walk to the TTC, then follow the path in the parking lot, you will go to the area where buses and ride share drop off is, and then enter security and pass into the family area. They are saying you can't walk directly to the start area and bypass this step (see writing in black). 614821
