I have just made ressies for these two places for June 17th and 18th dinners. We have never eaten at either place and I'm wondering what you people who have have to say about them. Is it possible to see the electric parade from the downstairs patio of Wine Country? We have 3 adults and 2 children. How's the food, the atmosephere, the service etc....? Thanx in advance for the input!

We liked the Jazz Kitchen quite a bit-great atmosphere with piano playing and good service. It was four years ago when I was there, don't remember the main course, but remember that my six year old did fine. The Bananas Foster-flaming at table side, is fabulous and a must-have!

We just ate at the Trattoria this past Saturday night and when we made our reservation we asked especially for a table right along the wall where we'd have a clear view of the parade. We booked our table for 8:20pm and our dinner was arriving just as the parade was coming by.

Prices were reasonable and service was great. Food was OK and we enjoyed the whole experience of sitting in comfort and watching the parade. Funny thing is that you'll be eating in the dark since all of the nearby lights are turned off for the parade. It was fun and the kids loved it and I'd do it again when we go back.

Thanx...When I made the ressies, the girl on the phone said you couldn't see the parade from the patio, but I went ahead and made them anyway and I'm glad I did from what you say...looking forward even more thanx for the input!

Jazz kitchen has the best food of all DTD property as far as I'm concerned!

Just curious...does the Jazz Kitchen have a children's menu? I looked on their website and they show the full menus but no children's menu? I am going without DH in July and would love to eat there but won't pay full price for my kiddos who don't eat very much.

Yup.. check out my post above, I believe it has the kids menu as well..

Jazz Kitchen is very good but I am a bit biased since two of the servers are very good friends of mine :rotfl: so I tend to eat there a lot. The only issue I have had in the past is the lack of vegetarian meals, but usually they have worked something out for me.

I so suggest the Bread Pudding and Creme Brule YUMMY!

Yes you can see the parade from the Trattoria, foods not bad either.

Stop by to follow up on your reservation when you get to CA and specifically ask for a table by the wall. Some of the tables by the wall have the view blocked by trees so make sure they know what you want and they'll hook you up.

Have fun!

thanx so much for the advice about checking in the day of the reservation! Would never have thought of that! We will definitely do that and be sure to get a good viewing seat....Can't wait!
