Wine around The World!?

Where is the best wine in WDW, I'm not a big wine drinker but recently I;ve been enjoying a good glass of wine, I like sweet to semi-sweet wine, I don't really enjoy dry wines, where would you recomend I go and what kind of wine? Is there anywhere in WDW (since we won't have a car) to purchase a bottle to enjoy in our room if we want? I'm new to the world of wine so I hope this isn't a dumb question. I wish I could go to the Food and Wine Fest!

I love the vouvray in France. It's awesome. I like sweet to semi sweet wine as well. I love the bellini and roseini in Italy (sparkling white wine with peach or strawberry necter). There is also a thicker, sweet icewine served in several of the restuarants that I like. I think you might be able to get a glass in Germany. Its expensive though ($12.00 for a small glass???). Lots of wine I haven't tried yet too. Have fun

Italy has a wine shop and my favorite is a sweet red sparkling wine called Bafi Rosa Regale- Its about $24.00 a bottle- I tried it at the F+W festivlal last year and got hooked. You can definitely take a bottle to your room.

Germany. They have wine tasting there, too. A few years ago, they did flight of four different Schmitt Sohne wines, ranging from sweet to not so sweet, to even drier than that.

I think the Spatlese or Auslese, if they have it, would suit you. They'll let you know which wines run sweet to dry.

For restaurants, California Grill has a very good wine list as does Jiko at AKL. We've also had nice wines at Shula's, Narcoossee's and Yachtsman Steakhouse. They all have the full variety from sweet to very dry. I prefer full bodied chardonney's and have had some nice ones.

At LeCellier in Canada...there is a sparkling white that is supposed to be awesome! We are waiting to try it on the Disney Wonder because it is only available from Victoria & Alberts, LeCellier and DCL. It is called Gaierhof Moscato Giallo Trentino!

Hi, I know that you can purchase wines at stores in Germany,France,Italy,Canada as well Japan (if you are into sake and plum wines that is). You should also be able to purchase wine at almost the hotel you are staying at I believe I know that you can at Beach Club Villas and Saratoga Springs also remember seeing that you can get wine at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I hope thats of some help and enjoy your stay

Have you considered bringing your own wine from home? If there's a wine my husband and I really like, we'll bring some from home to enjoy while on vacation.

Germany has some excellent wine flights. I also tried the ones in Italy and France but was not thrilled. If you're in the epcot area Martha's vineyard in the Yacht Club resort offer two flights (mostly reds).

Oh, if I remember correctly, in Italy, the wines that you sample are not available for purchasing in bottles. It might have been France though. In Germany, all the wines are available.

If you go into the shop in France where they sell wine and food, you can buy a wine sampler. If I recall, it was about $8 for 5 or 6 tastings, and DH and I always share. Fun to do! You can also buy it by the glass at the kiosk in front of the restaurant.

If you're at a restaurant, just tell the waiter that you're new to the 'world of wine', and what your preferences are so far. They can give you some great suggestions.

There also used to be a place in DTD that sold beer and wine, not sure if the shop that replaced it does (Earl of Sandwich? I think) .

Actually, pretty much all of the wines at Italy are available, as well as at France. I think the only one at Italy that might not be available by the bottle is the Riunite but I wouldn't buy a cheap wine at Epcot

Most, if not all, of the wines they sample at Epcot are available in local liquor stores as well - even the Banfi Rosa Regale. There's a good sized markup on most of them as well. The Banfi Cetine (red wine blend) is $10 in ABC stores here in Orlando, and $15 at the Italian store, so I'd say pick them up at home.

Oh, and France's wine flight is $6 for three wines, a red, white, and rose.

No more Schmitt Shone wines in Germany..they haven't had them for years. Can't remember the newer ones..quite dry though.

The wines you sample in Italy are definately available for purchase. Banfi's Rosa Regale, sparkling red wine is the best. With and without dark chocolate.

I'm with you on that. I didn't enjoy any of the Italian wines.


And I'm almost 100% positive that there was a country that didn't offer the wines featured in their flight for sale. Hmmmm....

Ohh there are also sake flights available in Japan.

I LOVE the Ice Wine from Canada. It is pricey, but worth the indulgence.
