Is this possible as a variation on the plain ol' drinking around the world? Without going into the sit down dining places. I know that some countries won't have wine because of how they fit into the longitude thing. I would like to get as many as possible, however, even if it's just doing a wine tasting. Of course, I'll gladly have beer if wine isn't available.

So, here's what I've figured out so far.

Mexico: ?

Norway: ?

China: I see that it's at the Lotus Blossom.

Germany: There's wine at Sommerfest!

Italy: Surely, you must be able to find wine here! But where? Without an ADR.

USA: ?

Japan: Sake! Plum Wine! ahhh, choices

Morocco: I love Moroccan wine.

France: I'm sure this goes without saying...right? tell me I'm right.

UK: We have an ADR at Rose and Crown, I would assume that they would have wine, but is it any good?

Canada: ?

Go F&W time, it's great.

I agree, go during F&W if you can....

I could be wrong, but I think you might need to substitute in some cases if you don't want TS:

Mexico: Frozen Margaritas or Beer @ Cantina
Norway: Carlsberg Beer (which is from Denmark) or Viking Coffee @ Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe; you might be able to get wine there, too, I'm not sure.
Italy: They have wine tasting in the shops.
USA: Beer?
Morocco: Beer @ Morocco Coffee and Pastries; I think you can get wine by the glass there.
France: Buy wine by the glass @ La Maison du Vin
Canada: ??? Beyond Le Cellier?

I'd love to go to F & W someday, but this is for a trip in February. Maybe in a couple of years, but I don't think that I should make a serious attempt at drinking around the world then, that could result in some hospitilization.

Thank you for the tips on Italy and France!

I haven't done the drinking around the world YET, but we did do the wine tastings in Italy & France this year and loved it. Loved it!

I think it would be a blast to try something new in each country. great fun!:goodvibes

You can do it anyway you like...we usually started in mexico and worked our way around that way. The hard part was japan, actually having to go into the resturaunt. They may have a cart outside now.

My problem is...I want a margherita from mexico, beer from germany, norway, america, and wine from italy, france.

as everyone knows...you cant mix driks like that if you want to function the next day.

Maybe thats why it's been 10 years since we attempted a True drink around the world.

A great sweetish red wine in Germany....Dornfelder. My DH has dreams about it and he doesn't like sweeter wines generally. Just stop in all of the countries and pick something that looks good!!

We enjoy the wine in Italy. We did the sampler to try some new ones, but we always come back to our favorite Rosa Regale.

Is that available at Sommerfest? I've recently begun to talk sweeter wines (muscats, ice wines, roses that are like kool-aid) so it would be fun to experiment with some more.
