RunDisney has to do something with the distance and time. Just think of the problems in the future it can create. How many thousands of people could claim the time and be in the A and B corrals.

How about non Disney events. I could use my time from the half of a half and now qualify for Boston, New York, Chicago. Let's go overseas too.

I know... I wasn't really serious about them using it as a half time. That does suck though for people who want to use it as PoT for non-RunDisney races.

The Poly buses had a 2 hour wait because people from the Grand Floridean, Contemporary, and just people who ate at the Poly so parked there used it as transportation to the start.

I really think they could use magic bands now to check where you are staying. The people who aren't staying at a host resort is what over whelms that system and caused a 2 hour wait at Poly.

It has been suggested in various threads about doing just this same thing. More so about those staying at the Swan and Dolphin and using the Epcot resorts. I think scanning the bands is a great idea.

I was also hearing that when the evac was declared the bussing was suppended too. I felt really bad to hear that there were quite a few still runners waiting at the resorts.

Ugh that stinks. The wait for the bus at POFQ was not too bad. I went outside at 7:45 and caught the bus that came around 8 and while the bus was pretty much full, I don't think anyone was left waiting.

That traffic to get into WWoS was crazy though. The woman sitting next to me on the bus said it was not that bad last year or at ToT.

There is no reason why they couldn't check magic bands for the busses they staff them to count the people that go on anyway. You want resort transportation stay at a host resort. It's simple.

I was finally coming around the corner when the last few runners were going by. I was in a daze, but I screamed for them so loud. Even the bike people were pumping up the crowd for the very last woman. I give her so much credit.

I really feel like I should volunteer for about fifty million races and just cheerlead. Along with the moment with the last two runners I loved the expo where I talked to an awesome lady and her daughter she was so scared of being swept that she didn't want to buy the "I did it" shirt. We talked her into it!

Maybe W&D 2016 will be a volunteer thing for me not a running thing.

I think they weren't sure if they were coming to Florida or not this year. runDisney keeps some bibs back and so I think Tommy was granted a bib due to his position through that. I know his mom said they were unsure if he was running this year but did a Disney trip over the time of Wine and Dine and even though it was super hot Tommy really wanted to do it. It is one of those unspoken things they can do to help especially someone with a record like Tommy's and well let's be honest he is free amazing publicity as well.

Okay Tommy is the best. I love stories like that. Just a boy that likes to run fast. That really brightened up my night as I pack to (finally) leave DW.

His full story is one of those that reminds you never to give up because he is not letting autism stop him. He has even audited college course!

I was on a Poly bus the 1st time at 7:15 with no wait. Best part was the first few buses they turned away spectators which I totally agree with. There is no reason spectators need to be on the first few buses. From there I realized I didn't have my garmin. I got off the bus and ran to get my garmin. I quickly used the bathroom in my room and did one last gear check since I clearly failed the first one. I got back to the line by 7:30. The bus came pretty quickly and I was one of the last few let on that bus. As we were pulling away you could see the line already backed up to the great cermimonial hall. My friends have been stuck on buses before so I always try to get on ine with in the first 30 minutes.

I doubt it actually was, since I'm sure this type of thing is common, but I wonder if it was me. I feel like something like that happened to me right around that point. I was wearing headphones, and I remember someone apologizing to me as they passed. So if it was me, I know you didn't mean it! What corral did you start in, and do you have any memory of what the person was wearing?

And I 100% agree with your last paragraph. As much as I would love to actually run a whole half marathon, the likelihood of that is very low at this point. But I'm committed to continuing to work at it and building up my endurance, so who knows what I may get to someday.

I think she was shorter, maybe between 5'2" and 5'5" at the most. Brown hair in a ponytail. I feel like she wasn't in costume? Maybe black bottoms white top? Gosh, wish I could remember exactly where it was. I just know I felt like an @$$ because I didn't want to be *that* person you know? I started in H, so around 11:30ish. This would have been around midnight to no worse than half past.

It would be small world indeed if I'd run into you- literally- on the course! HAHAHAHA

I'm so sad I missed them! Tommy was my encouragement to go for a half marathon. I asked his mom if I saw them if I could say hi and she said sure Tommy loves his facebook fans but I never saw them . Maybe next time.

For DVC members, it is not always that simple. We are blocked from booking outside our resort until 7 months out from the date of check in. At 7 months out during F&W? Forget about getting a room at a host resort. And considering what I pay in dues every year? I'm not blowing the money on a room simply for a bus. However, that said? I rented a car. So I was never a drain on the system one way or another.

Now, for something like the big marathon weekend in Jan or Princess in Feb? Nearly all the DVC resorts are host resorts so it does not matter. But in the case of W/D? If you don't own there your chances were slim and none of getting a room at Boardwalk. And the Poly is so new and uber point intensive that it is also not conducive to a stay for everyone either. Which I believe left only Old Key West- and I couldn't get a room there either. So I stayed at home- BLT.

But I want to stress two things- I never was a drain on the system because I rented a car and the concept of if you want transportation stay at a host resort is not always as simple as it is to say.

So many of us have headphones that it's hard to give a shout out that you're passing because I don't think most would hear it. I'm guilty of that, which is why I wasn't mad at the girl who nearly tripped me. Although she didn't even glance in my direction, she wasn't wearing headphones. Probably, she did try to alert me. She was booking. I can't fault her for wanting to go around.

I wish I knew!! I would have been all about saying hi. They just seem like a happy positive family. I can get behind that and their message. Also woof at my typing. I'm on my phone and this is just not going well.
