Wine and Dine 2015

I was reading over the safety portion of the email and noticed that it mentioned that headphones are discouraged... I definitely want music while I run. Do most people wear them anyway? I could do one ear bud if there is a lot you need to listen to during race. What does everyone plan to do?

I've gone with and without at Disney races, but I'm planning to wear them for W&D. I've never not been able to hear the announcements on speedbumps, etc with them in. I don't listen to my music overly loud, but it does motivate me and keep me going.

I never wear headphones at Disney races...too much to look at. And during Wine & Dine it was dark (obviously) so I wanted to be extra focused on what was around me so I didn't step on/trip over anything.

So, here's the result site (similar to how we found Bib numbers for the DLH) - but, unfortunately it's still empty ... not database has been attached: http://live.xacte.com/winedine/index.html

It may be a few more days before we see bib numbers there, especially if there are TAs still trying to unload bibs like above. I want to say I was told until Oct. 9 is when TA had to submit names and information to rD for this weekend, but it looks like the GROUPS registration for the weekend is closed on Active.

Bib numbers on the results site popped up on Aug. 4 for DLH - exactly one month before race weekend began, so here's hoping we see them soon!

Weird that a TA is still selling bibs. I believe our running leader was told all bib changes and sales had to be in by the 5th.

The 5th makes more sense than the 9th! I know when I got my 5K bib last week, it was right under the deadline (plus, I was finishing up a long weekend in New Orleans, so my memory wasn't the best ... :drinking1).

But I know of at least two TAs that have popped up on FB today with immediate availability of half bibs. So who knows?

Yeah. They may have asked runDisney for an extension but I would have thought they would only give them a day or two not a whole week. I was going to drop out and transfer my bib to another group member (completely kosher if you sign up as a group or through a TA) but was told I would have to do it by the 1st so it could be processed by the 5th since that was the deadline for bibs.

Sweet - sounds like the same situation with me. I got mine through a TA after someone dropped out of the 5K (the TA called me at like 7 p.m. on a Sunday night to ask if I wanted it) and I didn't get my official Active confirmation until the 1st.

Of all the race weekends, it seems like this one has the most moving parts as far as registrations go - just from sheer demand and from how many spots because re-available via charity or TA after people canceled registrations when entire parties couldn't get in.

Anyway. I'm sure it's just some last-minute shuffling of corral assignments for TA/Charity entries and comparison against PoT that's holding this up. I bet we at least see bib numbers tomorrow and corrals, etc., by the end of the week.

I hope so! All of this will determine how "hard" I hit the training this last month. I did up to 4 last week and was able to maintain my 14:30 pace so I'm feeling pretty good I can get back up to 10 before race day or heck I'll walk the last half like last year if I have to.

You've got this!

I'm actually going for time at Cocoa Beach on the 25th, so my W&D goal is to finish both races but depending on what corral I'm in will definitely determine how early I get to the staging location. I learned that lesson the hard way at DLH.

So did you get your bib # for the Jingle Jungle 5K? Did I miss an email about these?

Nah. You won't get those until waivers come out.

I meant "got a bib" as in actually got a registration into the race after it sold out on registration day.

If it's not too bold, I would totally take a bib transfer for this race if anyone knows of someone who can do it legitimately. I already have accommodation, which I got at a bargain price and that is what put me off going with the TA I mentioned earlier. But if all I needed to do was pay for a bib, that would be brilliant.

Charities or TAs are the only legit ways to get bibs right now.

I just caught up on over 20+ pages of this thread. It's been a busy few months.

To catch up, we're staying at POFQ through Race Weekend than moving over to OKW for the remainder of the week.

My times in runs have been staying fairly constant. Just switched to a 60 second run, 90 second walk with a constant 11:58 minute per mile time.

1/2 Marathon #8 for 2015 was 2 weeks ago. Plano Balloon Festival Half.
#9 is this weekend. Showdown 1/2 in Fairview, TX
#10 is next weekend. That Dam 1/2 in Lewisville, TX
#11 is W&D
#12 is Rock n Roll San Antonio
#13 is the Dallas 1/2
#14 & #15 are the New Years Double Double in Allen, TX.

Good luck to everyone!
Any other Half Fanatics on this thread? #11634 checking in.

You are right, they have listed it on that page... as I realize that maybe the previous poster meant that they were pending for Princess and Tink for *next* year. :) They are still listed as pending for Avengers, Star Wars, Princess, and Tink, but W&D does not say pending.

Yes, I meant next year Miranda. lol. Didn't even think to specify.

*Falls over dead from reading about doing that many halves in a row, let alone thinking about actually doing them* :rotfl2:
