Enjoy the drive, I am oddly going to miss the boredom of 75S this trip. I will certainly miss the excitement building as I hit the FL Turnpike. I got such a great price on a flight/hotel I am heading out tomorrow morning.

Yes it is a very boring drive!! That is why my face has been pressed to the passanger seat glass window in sheer slumber. Woke up and we are at the Florida Turnpike and beautiful, sunny skies!!! So excited!!!!eek,squeal and everything in between. Have a great flight!!!

I also just want to share my bit of pixie dust with you guys. We're DVC so I have had a room (1BR bc we had points that we had to use or lose) reserved since pre registration. The problem? Tomorrow was for a different view type. Tonight and the rest of the weekend was a MK view. So I would have had to check in and out three times this weekend. Big pain in the *** esp on the day of the race. Potentially wouldn't have had a room until 4pm. Not good. We had had a room wait listed for so long I had given up on it ever filling. Well apparently it did! So one room for the entire weekend!! So excited! First time in a park view and first time in a 1BR!!

We'll probably leave the house around 9:15-9:30, depending on how the husband's morning shakes out. Worst case, I'll head out early to do my biz and then he can go on Saturday to get his bib and stuff.

I'm hoping there is maybe some Disneyland Half signage left over that they're trying to sell. We just redid our backyard, and I'd love to have one of those adorable smaller banners to hang somewhere.



Man, a beer sounds delicious right now. Maybe after I finish my last big tumbler of water ...

I was at the clear water stage of things yesterday so I figure I can spare the beer bc apparently I'm hydrated and the kidneys still work.

So just got a text message from AA that our boarding time is delayed by approximately 20 minutes which may be just enough to cause me to miss my connection. I just talked to the gate agent and there's a later flight out of caharlotte but it takes off at like 1030 which means I 've paid for (well used points for) a room tonight that I won't get to use. And right now that flight is showing full.

Everyone, I need the pixie dust if y'all have any to spare........

That's where I was having my beer before. This is why I hate flying later in the day. But the powers that be wanted me to see patients today for at least part of the day, so here I am. Looking at the schedule, I'm better off stranded in ord phl or dca rather than stay at home because those airports at least have direct flights to Mco that land before the expo....

I'm trying to think positively but even if I get on this flight I'm going to be white knuckling it the whole time praying we land in time for me to make my connection.

Of course the positive is that with my training at least I can actually run for my flight lol

AA used to have ONE non-stop from DFW to BDL. I would only take that if I couldn't get a good layover in ORD (by "good", I mean long enough to keep me out of the office on a travel day). Lots of times, I would just fly USAir because I could always get a nice, lengthy layover in Charlotte. Segments, y'all!

I think, but am not sure, that these flights around this time of day are legacy us air flights. They have ridiculously tight turnarounds and connections. Apparently the inbound flight was late out of CLT bc of air traffic in CLT. If I was landing in ATL, I'd drive.

If there are enough people connecting and if you land before the departure time of the other flight, they will often hold the the next flight for a little while. I've seen that happen many times. Plus, they can oftentimes make up time in the air such that they are not as late as projected (i.e. even if the departure is 20 mins delayed, you may arrive only 5-10 mins late).

I have seldom seen a 20 minute delay affect a connection.

Yeah, AA notoriously builds in almost an extra 45 minutes into their posted travel time - so it seems like you're "early", when you're really just on time.

Thanks for trying to help you guys, it really helps.

My original flight time was take off at 5 and land at 650 then connection was taking off at like 750. Now we are still waiting on the plane to even land (originally we would be boarding in 2 mins) and estimated take off is 530 with a landing at 725. Gives me exactly 15 minutes before they close the door and that's assuming we don't have a long taxi. Hence why I was worried. I will hope I'm not the only one inbound on for that flight that is caught in a delay.

Speaking of the DFW flight @Keels the plane outbound for there just pulled in.

Oh and joy! The beer wants out. Can't win for trying.....

Did my last pre W&D run this morning. It was 68 and 100% humidity. Thank you FL for preparing me! We pick up the rental car late tonight and then off to Disney in the morning!

I did the same thing this morning to try and acclimate myself. It was slow going but glad I did it.
