Windsor Hills-Building 8

I'm looking to stay in Building 8 at Windsor Hills in one of the condos. Anyone have any recommendations? I've looked on vrbo and Windsor Hills rent or whatever that website is called, but I haven't gotten any responses or noticed anything in any of the descriptions that indicates that they are in that building. (And I would think if someone owned a condo that was right next to the pool, they would mention it!)

So anyone have any suggestions or know anyone or has anyone stayed in that building???

I haven't been there yet, so I have no idea about the building numbers. BUT, we rented our condo from Florida Sun Vacation Homes and they specified which condos were next to the pool We chose the Treasure Cay condo and it said "LOCATED NEXT TO THE POOL". SO, maybe you could check them out

I have never been there (yet) so I have no idea if this is accurate, but this was in the email that one of the owners sent me:

"Of all the buildings in Windsor Hills, building 7 is the only one on the water (see location map on the web site) and our third floor view is awesome. Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, half of 7 and half of 8 are looking at the parking lot... so, I don't think you want to do that for time you're there. Also keep in mind, the lower the condo building number, the farther you are away from the pool."

If you're asking me, I haven't rented from anyone in any of the buildings. I just got a lot of quotes from owners, and I remember that was in one of my emails. That particular owner was probably through windsorhillsrent.com I believe. I am actually in the process of renting a WH townhouse because it was cheaper/same price as most of the condos. If you want me to send you their email address, let me know. He also said it's "110 steps from our door to the pool gate".

Well, after seeing that map that a PP put up...I guess we are in Building 8 This is the description of the condo we are renting in 18 days!!!

Property Information:

1 Mile to Disney property - 3 Bed, 2 Bath - 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twins, 1 Sleeper sofa

LOCATED NEXT TO POOL! Simply walk out the back of the building to the pool, water slide, hot tub and clubhouse. Luxury condo has 42 in. plasma TV, TV/DVD in every bedroom, leather furniture... Outstanding custom designer furniture package with bright tropical fish kid's room.

All linens and towels are provided. Condo has a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances and utensils. There is a full size washer and dryer, central air & heat, iron and ironing board, telephone service, patio table and chairs.

I very recently booked a WH condo for April 2008 through FSVH (with a lot of help from the folks on this board!). I used them, WindsorhillsRent.com, and VRBO to make my decision. I don't think that any of the original information I received via emails or saw online indicated the building number of the condo. My DH really wanted a nice view, though, and so since I felt like we were limited to either building 7 or building 8, I just asked the owner or MC of any condo that seemed promising which building it was in. We ended up with a lake view unit in building 7 that I hope we'll be happy with!

We rented a condo in building 8 last year, but were overlooking the parking lot. In all honesty we didn't really sit on the balcony much and doubt I would have even if I overlooked the pool. Even though we were in 8 and supposedly closest to the pool, we had to walk all the way around the gates to get in anyways ... building 7 was just as close because you were closer to the back entrance of the pool. As for the rest, they are a whopping two or three minute walks. Of course when I was renting for the first time I figured I needed the closest, but if I did it again, I wouldn't be as picky about that.
As for water view ... to me it is a big pond. It isn't a lake and isn't that exciting to look at ... unless you have some binoculars and are searching for the resident croc!!! (for the record we didn't see him, but we didn't look much)
Don't get me wrong ... we LOVED our condo and will be back someday, but I learned 1. Don't believe the excitement about seeing the fireworks (you will see one or two) 2. Don't believe there is a beautiful lake view as it is a pond to me 3. Pool view is nice, but we watched a few times from the outdoor balconies and you could just spot people a little because it is a pretty far away view. I think people just charge more for the above three things and they really aren't as important to me as a really clean condo, with good towels, good owners with a good management company, and nice beds to sleep in. As for the walk, the townhomes really aren't that much further away!
