Specifically looking at either shades or shutters. Windows are a standard size and not looking to do anything too crazy.

I've heard good things about Costco.

I was happy with the custom ones from Home Depot. They always have a sale going on.

3 day blinds-we paid the small charge to have them measure which was a win b/c one of our 'standard size' windows apparantly had a smidge of a difference in the measurement between the top of the window frame and the bottom which the technician did not catch so the company had to eat the cost of one of the shades and remake it (much more costly than the 9 or 10 window's measuring cost).

paid extra for the builders to put blinds on the windows. Bought sheers and curtains for the sliding door from Amazon. I think they were Amazon Marketplace items where I discussed dimensions with the seller

Budget Blinds. They come for free to measure and then give you quotes, based upon what designs you pick

Not shades or shutters but the latest set of window "curtains" I bought I bought at Amazon and they are actually shower curtains.

No shades or shutters. Fabric purchased to construct sheers and drapes.

Lowes. We had 1.5" Levelor blinds custom cut and are happy with them. They have a substantial look and go great in our NH farmhouse new construction. They were about $50+ per window at 36" wide. DH installed them. The 36" square windows are tricky and we went with roller shades also in white. Those too were custom cut. No shades on the back of the house as we have privacy.

I looked into many places for roman shades. Big box stores, local shops, online shops, you name it. Needed shades for 5 kitchen windows, 2 kitchen glass doors and 1 very small guest bathroom and one to cover side entry glass (small) side door. Prices were as high as $12,000 to $4,0000. Budget blinds beat out Home Depot by a couple hundred. Dealing with Home Depot wasn't so great as far as window treatments go. Used HD for carpet and had good experience, don't think window treatment people really knew what they were doing. HD even said to use Budget Blinds. And that's what I did.
