My parents were there in September and enjoyed it. They stayed in one of the newer condo units with plunge pool on the hillside - those are apparently the best ones to get. The resort is on a steep hill, but you can just catch a shuttle if you don't want to walk - they are small vehicles that traverse the tiny hillside paths. There was plenty to do, though they mostly relaxed. The beach there isn't one of the best, in case that's important. Not sure what the food would normally be like, as my parents had special plain meals prepared for them (food allergies). They also don't drink, so can't tell you about those! St. Lucia is pretty nice - not overly developed. There are forests and waterfalls and sulphur springs. The beaches aren't the whitest because it's a volcanic island, but some of them are fine. They won't look like the coral island beaches though (Bahamas, Barbados). The scenery is lovely, that's for sure!
If you have any specific questions I will ask my parents if they know the answers or have an opinion.
