So far so good...
Glad to hear it, DM. After all you went through last year, I'm glad you caught a break this time.the Dark Marauder said:I'm fine. Power was not interrupted and the house is fine.
He had said he was evacuating to RPR so I figured he was physically OK. I hope his house made out OK too.thedisneymom said:That's so like him riding out the hurricane at Universal!!
We live about a quarter mile from the Naples Botanical Garden which was chosen because the micro-climate of the location will support rain forest plant life. We took advantage and planted a number of exotic tropical trees and foliage. The trees and plants suffered most from the neighbor's brittle trash volunteer trees that were little more than flying weeds. One of the trees that we cabled held but one we cabled to a huge existing tree that was uprooted as well is leaning at about a 45 degree angle over the power lines leading to my house. I have to get a professional tree trimmer for that one. With the help of the neighborhood kids we got 80% of our broken trees to the edge of the road where the County said they would pick them up. The pile is 25' wide, 60' long and about 15' tall and is the biggest on the block. We got a call while staying at RPR that said we lost all of our trees. I started counting in my head and came up with over 40. We only lost about 25. Our house did not receive as much damage as Seahag's. I hope that it doesn't rain for a while.Eclpz314 said:I know it's a small thing, but curious about the extra effort you put into saving your trees? You had said you cemented and tied cables to the ones left from previous storms?
