haven't seen one of these since the early 50's when I was a small kid.

It was a yellow convertible.

There was an old man at least in his 80's looking at it. He couldn't figure out why there were three pedals on the floor (clutch, brake and gas). The man wanted to know if it was made in Germany. I think his memory is going.

If memory is correct this was built by Willy motors and was the first commercial Jeep. Built maybe late 40's early 50s.

It was supposed to appeal to the Surban Crowd. As the Jeep, was off road and rugged. I don't believe it ever took off. This was from a History Channel Show on the History of the Jeep from about 12 years ago. Jeep was designed by another company, but they could not produce the number required for WWII, Contract was given to Willys.
