For those of you who have been to the Williamsburg area, if you could only do one of these three attractions, which would you choose? We will be in DC for the week of July 4th and are thinking of driving down for a day or two to Williamsburg. At which location do you think we'd get the most out of it in a short time?

Definitely Williamsburg. It's a really interesting area, with a little bit of something for everyone. It might be a lot to see in just a day - you need about 2 days to see everything there. Particularly around the 4th of July, when it's a bit crowded.

williamstown is the best of the three. You can get combo passes to go to all three though. Jamestown is neat for small kids because there is alot of hands on stuff.

I would have to agree with Williamsburg. You can do as much or as little as you like. You can walk through the restored area, dine at one of the restored inns, and if you have the time visit the exhibits that require a pass.

If you are only planning one day, I would say Williamsburg, but I wouldn't buy a ticket. You won't have enough time to get the full value out of it.

You can still walk the historic area (which is amazing all to itself), and go into any of the shops that sell things (Tarpley's Store, the Greenhow store, the grocer, the goldsmith, Raleigh Tavern bakery, the print shop, and a few others). You can also have lunch at one of the Taverns.

Also, Presidents Park is about 10 minutes from the historic area and it's pretty interesting too.
